Shit don't get more real than this. Herbie at 82 knocks the fuck out of today's so called modern talent, apart from people like Robert Glasper and utha mutha's that keep it real. People like Adele and ded sheeran will fade out, but sadly 'most' people listen to Shit so they help feed the mass audio-excrement that's pumped into our ears. Thank fuck for decent music and those with Ears to Hear it

Intro Sounds like waking up in hell. Or insane assylum with your ex wife still asleep next to you ..total bad vibes. But he is lifelong musical force....none having a same effect on the world at large.

You think his BHUDDIST spiritualism influences his music?

You mean Buddhist? Yes without a doubt - it’s a core part of who Herbie is and what he does for sure.

Lovie Herbie but this is too way out even for me...
@universalman5861 Жыл бұрын
Herbie sounds worse ever time I hear him. An artist who should have long gone into retirement. His music is soulless, visionless and lightweight fluff. Like Miles Davis in his latter years herbie's present music threatens to undermine the stella contributions he made in the 60's and 70's.

Sorry, to me it's noise. Bring back the old HH but he wouldn't make as much money if he didn't do this crap. "The Emperor Wears No Clothes"
@Mallens19652 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The whole performance was "oversynthesized" Terence Blanchard didn't produce one note without reverb. The piece with Herbie singing like a virtual computer assistant from the nineties. I was there and people want to be able to conclude it was magic, but it truly wasn't.
@Needlestitch2 жыл бұрын
Old HH? You probable mean ancient. The HH sound is unique, whether it is Maiden Voyage, Spider or Just Around the Corner.
@dokproduction98812 жыл бұрын
You probably thought the same thing when Miles came back in the early 80's... These guys are real artists because they never play the same thing and they take risks. That's why they've always paved the way for future generations. The others stay in their comfort zone.
