Glad someone else said it. And the pin vice is just the "handle" part, the vice that can hold a pin. The circular shaped vice. There are all sorts of tips that can go into a pin vice, including very tiny drill bits, chisels, pins, screwdriver heads, and, of course, the tool used by OP

At what point does "cleaning up" the fossil turn into aesthetics? The outline around the fish skeleton looks really nice, (don't get me wrong) but is it something that is done every time because it looks good or is it necessary?

As someone who does construction a screwdriver is whatever I want it to be at the moment. It could be my Chisel, Pribar, my screwdriver or my hammer. If I get my hands-on it before the other tools.😂 The right tool for the right job.
@procrastinator41
@procrastinator41 4 ай бұрын
@@relytdragon5626It’s a joke 😆 (I work in the trades⚡️), sooner or later, pretty much everybody will use a screwdriver as a chisel. We yell that when we catch somebody misusing or abusing a tool, like a cranky old shop teacher 😆. Sidenote: after some years and as your tools get better and more expensive, you think twice about these things. I always keep a big flat blade husky or rigid to abuse, to protect my Klein and Knipex

@@relytdragon5626 as a mechanic, amateur woodworker, and rockhound, they are and arent chisels depending on where we're at. In my shop a screwdriver's purpose is sacred, as is a chisel's. They are certainly not interchangeable. I'll go buy some harbor freight stuff to misuse for rockhounding, as I'd prefer to keep my good tools at home instead of misplacing them in the woods anyway. They get the job done for all intents and purposes, usually last pretty long, and may even be warrantied. However they're affordable enough to not hurt my soul or wallet if i do lose em or break em.
