Dear Dr. Peterson, I doubt you will see this comment, but I feel the need to thank you for the gifts you've given me despite that. I've been listening to your lectures since I was 16. Then, I was a devout atheist (ironic, but true), a pathological liar, painfully alone, and a practiced manipulator. I held a great deal of hatred for religion and art because it, to me, was nothing but a lie. Still, I had a deeply buried love of music that crawled out of me some days, but I felt ashamed to admit that. Enjoyment genuinely caused me pain. After encountering your lectures, I went through many transformations and have taken, by your advice, as much responsibility as my sacrifices could strengthen me to hold up. Today, at nearly 20 years old, I am deeply Christian, on my way to being confirmed into the Catholic Church, and am in college studying Piano Performance at a level that I never could have imagined. This summer, I am stepping in to run all of the church's music to give my piano teacher (the only organist in the church) a break and to bring as much peace to others and to myself as I can. I cannot thank you enough for the path you have opened for me, and I know for certain that if I had not encountered your work I would have grown into a deeply mangled excuse of a man. I am happy to be who I am, and I am truly hopeful for my future and the future of the world. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Russell Romine

Very interesting story. Who knows, if this is true, maybe it could lead to the Peterson team deciding whether or not to attempt to reach out. Though I imagine they have lots on their plate right now as it is with probably MONTHS planned and some things perhaps planned in years so it's just a passing thought. Whether this story is true or not, it's very uplifting. Seems quite detailed and well-written. Can't help but respect it, and even if it's fictional there may well be a story or maybe multiple that is POSSIBLY similar. I've personally improved from watching Dr. Peterson's content online since at least around 2017 but possibly earlier. I still believe that someday there ought to be a statue, but even further, that there's so many who have been so influenced in so many positive ways, someone SOMEWHERE will indeed make it a reality. Even if it's on private property instead of public. But anyhow the story is still unfolding. If it turns out this psychologist and professor is in secret a heinous and evil human being perpetrating evils we cannot fathom... that changes things. But if he's indeed a very upstanding and moral citizen which is what I believe him to be then... yeah. Not sure who in Canada has done more good for more people around the world on a personal level in this span of time than him. I mean, how do you even measure that? I don't think it's possible. I just find it astounding, much as he seems to as well, that truth and GENERAL encouragement are things that so many are starved for. Just a basic thing like "Yeah you're flawed but there's WAY more to you than you know, you can do A LOT of good to people's lives in your immediate community, and you can find a sense of PURPOSE (without which, I believe, one can only have depression or dysphoria of some sort). There's a lot of lost souls out there... and well whether I'll be able to maintain my life or if I'll be lost too and perhaps even homeless again, that remains to be seen.

Thank you Jordan Peterson. Knowledge in this area is one thing. Application of that knowledge is another. So it’s great to be able to prove these truths about my soul and to see the positive results. Just wanted to say in relation to gratitude as a practicing Catholic that I discovered a few years ago was the importance of with a contrite heart asking God for mercy and then thanking Him profusely for His mercy and ALL things in my life down to the breadth/oxygen flowing through my body. The bible says something like Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise and His holy of Holies with worship. Worship God in spirit and in truth. The only person worthy of my worship.

My portfolio recently reached 6-figures, and here's what I have to say about it. It is important to carefully analyze your options and keep an eye on the economy when investing during inflation. Make sure your portfolio consistently reflects your risk tolerance and financial objectives by reviewing and rebalancing it. A financial advisor can offer tailored advice based on your unique situation and assist you in navigating the challenges of investing during inflationary periods.

The benefits of working with a financial advisor could last a lifetime. While others were whining about inflation, I was busy cashing out from my Diversified-portfolio, ultimately making over 370k for the first quarter of the year. I'm so glad I was able to get in touch with my coach, Joseph Sullivan Anderson, early this year. We have received help from Joseph Sullivan Anderson in achieving debt freedom and retirement savings.

The Judeo-Christian idea of human being created in the image of God means that we are all of unlimited potential. Since God is invisible it means we should act like God. When Jews celebrate the Sabbath we are remembering that God created the world and God brought the Jews out of slavery. The implication for us is to act accordingly and be positively creative and to work to bring others to freedom. A basic yet important idea.

Jordan made it sound like one should identify with archetypes like Enoch, Christ, Marduk, Chronos, Aion, Mithras, Apollo, Jonah or the commonality of all them reflected through an individual, Not just plumber. Almost like whichever one calls to you most and maybe it's a mixture of some they do have lots of commonality. But here he claims knowing the archetypes doesn't make you an archetype which seems to be words from a wise man with personal experience. So I was asking is that what he meant in a previous short by finding something higher to identify with?
@invenitur4231
@invenitur4231 Жыл бұрын
@@coleman318 Yes, knowing an archetype doesn't make you that archetype, it's impossible to be an archetype. There are just archetypal patterns reflected in reality and in yourself. All he means is not to overinflate your ego by assuming you're the perfect avatar of an archetype, like Geppetto going too far into the Great Father archetype and then becoming blinded by it. By the picking a guiding star, all that means is you should follow your self-sufficient ideal self. You ideal self with be an amalgamation of archetypal patterns as all humans are, but fundamentally you're to follow the path of the hero (which can take many forms but entails breaking the bonds with the parents by facing the dragon of the unknown and becoming triumphant over it), this is an ongoing process of dragon slaying till you become the good father who brings forth the next hero. I recommend the book "The origins and history of consciousness by eric Neumann" for more insight.

Until people realise each of us is the most important person on the planet and the least important person.. on the planet.. We are the most important person on the planet because we are the only person 100% responsible for our own behaviour, attitudes and values etc.. and it’s up to each of us to be the best possible person we can be, loving, kind, altruistic and HONEST and don’t twist reality to justify bad behaviour! Then, we are the least important person on the planet no matter who you are! We all die.. no matter how delusional you are.. so our lives are temporary and we must value and enjoy every second and stop wasting VALUABLE time with superfluous emotions and actions.. I CANT describe how to be happy here because it would be a book, but I have worked out how to be happy after a very traumatic filled childhood and past.. and it’s NOT HARD.. and is a choice.. WE CAN ALL CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY.. AND THE MEANING OF LIFE IS EXACTLY WHAT WE ARE DOING NOW.. because you can’t magically change what’s happened and obsessing about WHAT WE DONT HAVE or have done, is a waste of valuable time.. Start RIGHT NOW .. decide what life you want and look at reality.. NOT FANTASY because the truth will set you free! The truth is we all DIE.. the truth is we choose who we are.. the truth is nobody is better than anyone else.. the truth is we are all as valuable as the next person even if they have discovered the cure for cancer, they are no more valuable then each and everyone of us.. I will say one thing here, NEVER put anyone on a pedestal and worship anyone.. nobody is better than YOU! NOBODY! I have researched and read thousands of books on ‘how to be happy’ because I was desperate to find happiness and there isn’t a book out there with a step by step guide.. BUT I did figure out how to be happy and I find joy, love laughter and am happy every single day now! I see my traumatic past as a gift and no longer become negatively affected remembering my past.. I am grateful for my past because without it I would not have been as DESPERATE TO FIND HAPPINESS which I definitely have.. my past is a gift.. and my present is full of joy! ❤

It is easy to understand that as unique individuals we are all the center of our own universe as we are all created in the image of an Omnipotent God who resides outside of Time and Space in the 4th dimension. This quite frankly my worst bane, in a nutshell. The problem? I am Anakin Skywalker. (synonymous with personality). feels like intregal part of personality. if hadn't realized? Im a tryhard (sigh). all about tryhard life. problem is its harder telling someone that if personality is linked to those traits. I mean is that some people are egotistical for a reason. which is that they are high excelling people. and this is same with myself. it's not even that I think Im more important than others. its feeling that I feel personal greatness but opposite of that which is yeah dark side. every weight has its own counterweight. problem is more achieving are, more risk there is to for something to go wrong. imagine telling someone who is natural overthinker (natual in their personality/genes), not to overthink. It's my life man. what do you want me to do? I see it as like, as like everything we do is for ultimate purpose helping others. (cause we are all destined on same path, eventually, despite how long it takes). the thing is I knew this (kind of impressive stunt-master) and recently I was having a game of cricket and was gonna hit ball 1000 miles opposite direction but I thought well. I have to be modest here. but it is REALY REALLY hard. cause I know something people don't. that I was one of greats once and its deep inside me (problem? others dont see it, but its now causing me conflict). I wander if it is worth using Ego side to defeat ego side. (just one random thoughts cropped up), I also had thoughts of like ego to self heal, like dark arts of self healing the dark arts of self healing. I am the narcisisstic genius. The problem is that the SAME WANT can lead to inner turmoil. That is it in nutshell ( I am darth vader/anakin skywalker ), but the version where.. I DID Not BECOMEE that person/guy. so now I lie in misunderstanding State. But its causing me PAINNN, real pain. I think this lands 101 hit on the pin. (what I just said). I think I am deeply misunderstood. on other level. It's really because... I endured a loss.. that took it all from me. but now even loss itself is causing other losses (which people cannot see nor understand or recognize). this deep misunderstanding is what causing me grief. (but its apparently my responsibility to try absolve it), absolve others perceptions about me (often completely wrong). can someone help me out? It all links back to loss, Profound loss. Its causing me plethora of other losses (in my life), including this one. what I need is something/someone/a thing to stop it. noone realizes this deep truth about me that cuts so deep. This is why I overthink. I've said this about million times already (but noone beleives me). it is in fact. a Deeper Issue. but one that was completely outside of my control. It complicated grief. the Skywalker who never BECAME the skywalker. Can't even live a normal life now.. anyhing I say doesn't make any sense to people. (because they don't understand why the I see it/seeing it/whatever). I haven't even told my friends/colleagues about it. that's how deep it is. When I say loss, I mean reall reall loss. cause its there and its affecting everything. but noone realizes just how loss impacted me/how deep was. if they did they would (FACTUALLY) be shocked. occured because deeper things. its most complex/long/emotional story in history. why me???? Problem is I am not the man I should be. I am product of something much bigger. but potential were cut exponentially cause of loss. (what they see is only comprised version of that). its a serious issue though, causing me much grief. problem was... it happened EARLY on in my life. (same that would happen later on, but in childhood). its very complex one. to really see how demised is like how the fuck does that even happen. its like rare catastrophe (IS a rare catastrophe). happened in wrong way/wrong time. but see thing is I was at my best stage of my life, most invincible stage of life. which is when it sprung and hit unprecedently. (the precise thing that would demise it all). like probed for precise like nut/cranny and that happened to freakishly crumble everything in life. You think it happened to people careless, but it also in fact happen to someone who has it all. (MOST IMMUNE), to kind of thing occuring. I was in my prime at the time. (My best self), exactly why so upsetting. so big in fact I had amnesia to this event for years. (and loss identity). They say be kind, for most time something terrible happened to them. and it is well none other. than ME. now in wake there is this.. empty hole/empty gap in wake, suddenly dissaperared from whole picture (I know cause experience too with others, long time of research/investment). whats worse??? the loss itself was hugest loss in history. how is it possible for a man to explain an event like this? (yet it is so foreign/unbenign can't begin to fathom).

‘Conscious that gives rise to being” stop yourself. Conscious can only make sense of becoming. Think about the kind of being it is a human intellect (consciousness) can grasp. It is composite being that you see not a naked form, a mix of matter and form in the kind of being that you see. The matter in composite being must always be potential or no being could grow old/reproduce. Despite the inherent potential, I can say Sigmund to the thing that is my dog, although he is becoming. This is the problem of the one and the many. The basic temptation to portray the wall as man’s construct clearly has not changed in millennia. The answer is not neo-Parmenidean sophistry. You are capable of better than sophistry Dr..

The question was about him and not his wife. What was telling was he recently said you cannot compliment people who are ahead of you in the hierarchy because it is presumptuous. A master and slave relationship. So if you're a nurse it would be presumptuous to say to the doctor he nice shoes. He supports a hierarchy where he's on top. Where would he be in the hierarchy on the frontlines of the Ukraine Russian war? Of course all of this has affected him how couldn't it. Presumably on the front lines of the front War 60 year old men, on the whole, r not as valuable as the Young Guns loading the 120-pound shells. None-the-less on the whole the man is 99.9% remarkable.

All that says is that those ahead of you, and usually elders, seeing how he is quite accomplished for his age, deserve some modicum of respect. Seems to be implicit knowledge for most people. I personally would treat my boss as an equal if I respect him and don't know him well. What's the alternative?
