In my opinion this looks like Arteta realised how much we missed Granit Xhaka and wants a player with a similar profile but more technical. From what I can see his a great passer, can defend, good at anticipating and winning his duels and can contribute attacking wise. What this video doesn’t show is how effective he is when the opposition is playing a low block. Arsenal really struggled with that last season.

We need this guy, what an improvement from the player we briefly saw at Newcastle. If it’s Calafiori, Merino and Timber on top of the team last season, we’ll be incredibly hard to beat. The transfer window’s been slow, but i believe Edu will make sure we get exactly what we need.

Some Arsenal fans want flashy options, but Merino is a duelling monster and his style of play alongside Timber/ Califiori will bring Martinelli back to life! Just my opinion tho.
