You might like to know that he lived in his car for better than a year. This is truly a self made man and deserves everything he has. He’s extremely family oriented and writes a lot of his own work. It’s the self made part why businessmen respect him, it’s his soft, family side why people as whole love him. Even when he names the wrong woman as Miss Universe, which he did on a live show, he came out with dignity, as much as you can have at a moment like that, and openly admired his mistake. He didn’t blame the cards or a writer, he manned-up and admitted he was solely at fault.

Here in Las Vegas, Family Feud runs 2 episodes back to back starting at 4:00 pm. Decades ago, it used to run late morning and early afternoon. But back then, everything on TV was PC.

Richard Dawson, Louie Anderson, Ray Combs all are deceased former family feud host.

New episodes of Family Feud are in the evening, but I have seen reruns play during the day in the past.

I've been watching Family Feud since it first started in the mid-70s. Here's the thing you got to remember when you're answering a question: you'll hear him say at the podium, "we asked 100 people this question and the top four (or 5,6,7..) answers are on the board." You can throw out inappropriate answers because you're not really answering for yourself; you're guessing how the 100 people they asked (usually at a mall) answered the question. Most contestants play the game wrong, in my opinion, and don't consider the question that way; they answer the question for themselves. You have to think, what type of person do you think would stop and answer a bunch of strange questions for somebody with a clipboard hanging out at the mall and how would that person or that type of person answer the question that's being asked. The answers are usually pretty base and simple.

When I hear Family Feud, makes me think of Richard Dawson, which makes me think of Hogan's Heroes, which makes me think of my favorite TV character Shultz.

Steve Harvey is very much alive. The only two former hosts of Family Feud who've died are Richard Dawson, the Britishactor who was the original host, and Louie Anderson, the American comedian who died in January of this year.

If you are thinking of a recent game show host that we lost and adored, it was Alex Trebek. Trebek was a Canadian that hosted a gameshow in America for 37 seasons. He did the job so long, that most of us forgot he was Canadian. As for Steve Harvey, you were almost right. He was also a talk show host, but he was daytime. His show was out of Chicago, until maybe his last two seasons, which were produced in California at NBC Universal Studios. They maneuvered him out of his show. Personally I like the show better when it was produced in Chicago.

I think that we're referring to Richard Dawson. It was a big deal in the U.S. when he passed. He was born in England.

the show was originally hosted by a man named Richard Dawson, back in the 70s and 80s, maybe that's who you were thinking of as a 'national treasure'. it wasn't his first gameshow, as host or permanent guest. It was off the air for a while then brought back with Steve Harvey. Dawson was pretty funny quick with the innuendo. But it was a daytime show back then, so his vocabulary was more G-rated, he still got plenty of innuendos in.

Steve Harvey didn't die but he did read off the wrong name for the winner at a Ms America contest, which is almost the same thing.

Family feud plays off the understanding that when people are put in a spotlight and under pressure and they're not used to that that you're adrenaline kicks in. Adrenaline actually reduces your senses especially your hearing. They take advantage of that to create humor. But there's some physiological reason for that, yet still it's funny.

Take a good long look at each guy, because they’re going to be sleeping in the doghouse for a month at least 😂
