Me too. :D The idea is very well explained, but if and when my warm-cool scale looks literally neutral, it's not helpful to go back to the step telling me it is absolutely neutral.

After months of spending what seems like all of my spare time reviewing all the stuff out there on this topic, you are the FIRST person to give me confidence on finding where I fit! Finally, a deep and wide explanation of applying this method. I am one of those for whom there is no clear winner on the draping test, pretty neutral in hue, and pretty middle of the road on the other characteristic ranks (I would describe my hair and eyes as "medium mud" and my skin as "lighter mud." Lol). But you pulled from just about every reliable source and laid it all out so well that even I now know (rather than guess) that I'm a Soft Summer. Thank you!!!

I can’t thank you enough for these videos. It made me get convinced I don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on a professional color analysis. I have a pretty neutral undertone which makes things a little more complicated since I can borrow colors from other seasons but with the help of your videos I was able to narrow down what should definitely look good on my skin. Thank you, that was the best and most comprehensive explanation of color seasons I've seen, with a really clear guide about how to find your own season. I've always struggled to figure out my own season due to having a mostly neutral skin tone and medium ashy brown hair with blue eyes, which is a fairly neutral and sometimes contradictory combination that doesn't seem to fit neatly into any of the seasons. It's a little unclear as well whether I'm bright or soft/muted, as I'm sort of in the middle on that feature. Because I end up middle of the road on so many things, I've always struggled with the binary aspect of color categorization. However, I have one non-ambiguous feature, and that's my dark value. And though my skin tone is neutral, with your guide I can see it's definitely a cool neutral. So this analysis makes it clear that I'm a dark winter, with elements of a soft summer. And that makes sense, given what colors I naturally gravitate towards. If I take dark winter colors but make them slightly more muted, that seems to yield the best results, since I'm not quite as high contrast in my features as most winter types.

Colour me beautiful is THE classic book on this topic, my parents already had a copy about 20yrs ago 😄 Sadly, I'm everything and nothing. It's so unclear that I decided to fully go with step one. I'll sort my wardrobe by colours, wear everything once and and plan to give away everything that's not ideal. I think I rather have to actively sort out colours and see what I'm left with.

This is very detailed analysis and it is good to know this stuff. But in the end I feel, whichever color you like and can carry off well will make you look the best. In my own case, I am a neutral leaning to warm toned skined person. My skin has yellow in it but I have both blue and yellow views in my hand looking in sunlight. Based on this, warm colors should go well with me, like yellow or ivory or orange. But my personal preference has always been cool colors, I always choose cool colors and I rarely wear colors like yellow. Even in makeup, I lean towards cool colors as warm color always seem like over the top to me. So somehow, I cannot fit myself into the color scheme rules and always choose colors like black, pure white, purple and do get compliments when I wear them. But more importantly, I feel good and I feel they are the right choice for me. In the end, I liked your analysis but unfortunately, I have never gone by the books when it comes to color, clothes and makeup and i wear with confidence whatever I like.

I share the same skin type as yours. My side cheeks ( jawline area) is darker than rest of the face and complexion is more or less same as yours. After watching your videos, i started to see maroon color in a different way. Now i have more maroons in my closet and it suits me the best. Watching your video, i figured out i m too a deep/dark autumn and I go to your videos/photos for a quick judgement which color will suit me , which will not for if it suits you, it will suit me. heheheh.

I’m a light olive- medium brunette - tending warm- cool gray blue eyes. It’s a challenge for me to work with in the summer palate during summer, when my skin tans and gets very warm on the surface. The undertone of my skin stays olive and slightly leans cool. My skin is also pigmented on my face and my face is red… but my skin is slightly cooler despite the redness. I wear cool muted/ warm muted- depending on the seasons. If I darken my hair to a more ashy brunette - it fits my skin tone better - but then the muted colors are not strong enough for the contrast and I have to lean into the winter pallet more often. It’s tricky. I truly warm up with the tan that my skin welcomes in the summer. My hair lightens and warms because of long days in the sun. Suddenly, those cool colors look a little out of place & km back to muted warm - or muted cool, or well- I’ll just wear gray. Honestly - I avoid color as I age. It’s too much to keep up with.

If you are in the US- I did this using cloth swatches bought on Amazon. About $17 for 10x10 swatches. I had already done my colour analysis through some pictures remotely (which I paid for). I wanted to confirm the Deep Winter analysis myself so I bought the cloth swatches.

Before I did all this and got my analysis done, I had a large stack of cards from Amazon and I used those colored (and different depth and undertone) cards next to my face. That made me interested in pursuing all this!
