Ultimately, it's not a sedan or sports car. I have a Crosstour for Lowe's trips and camping trips or long road trips. It's a fantastic cruiser. I have a 340i for my daily driver, and yeah, the crosstour is "wallowie" and "figity" compared to that... But if I get behind the wheel of a Pilot or Father's Yukon the crosstour is downright fantastic to drive. In fact, as someone who has purely owned German cars and One Range Rover, I love the Crosstour. When it came time to grow up and get a sensible vehicle, the Honda crosstour was my first thought. It's unique, it rides well, it's quiet and frankly the handling is just fine. It's exactly what I would expect from a Japanese crossover. It's not an X5 it's not a Q5, it's a sensible, reliable, well built, AWD people hauler that does everything that it needs to do. I use it when it snows and for camping trips in the mountains. In fact, it has handled trails that were rated "4x4 only". I agree, it's not going to run through a mountain pass and be "rewarding" but I think your missing the point of the vehicle. I am incredibly thoughtful when it comes to buying a car and the pleasure of driving is important. What needs to be remembered is that this isn't a pleasurable vehicle (even though I love it) it's a vehicle that is used for utility. Great cargo space, great fuel economy, great interior space for passengers, very intelligent AWD, ect. IDK, this is my opinion, so everyone is entitled to theirs. However, after selling cars, buying hundreds cars (through an auto purchasing company), having raced for years, and finally settled down, the crosstour is a fantastic vehicle.

I own this car and let me tell you it is awesome! It is smooth, powerful, fast and quiet. When you're driving it there is a commanding view of the road and an overwhelming sense of security. Also eats snow covered roads like nobody's business. Swallows lot's of cargo as well. It's our automotive swiss army knife!

This was, quite honestly, the most worthless test of a vehicle in history. First of all, if you don't have enough time to fully test a vehicle don't test it. Second of all, squirlly is not a descriptive term. At least not for someone who is qualified to test and give vehicle recommendations. Yes, I own a 2013 Crosstour so my opinion may be bias but the car is not intended to be a performance vehicle yet that's what you based your main objections on. When you review a vehicle please stick to testing that is appropriate to how an individual vehicle is engineered. You have successfully mislead people into thinking that the Crosstour is a substandard vehicle. I can only assume neither of you are married, have children, or are concerned with comfort, value, or the longevity of a vehicle you pay a hard earned $40,000 for. Guys, the internet is full of bad information. Please don't add to it!!!

I also own a 2013 and its anything but squirly, my daily commute is a very windy mountain highway and i can drive the road with confidence at 40mph up and down, and im no race car driver.

I have to agree. My crosstour handles like no car I have ever driven before. Its is very sure footed and handles awesome in the rain! I was shocked this guy claimed it was "squirrely".

Mines the older model 2010 and I find the handling not as loose as they say, there is what feels like power hydro steering but not as easy or loose turning like an electric power steering. Mine you the tires are the most important part that touches the ground and if you have shitty tires then you're going to get shitty performance.

Nobody drives a car like that!?... Unfair as this may be the greatest car ever built. To bad it's being discontinued, guess they didn't sell enough as documented on Wikipedia. I looked into SUV's, Luxury, Crossover's, and sedan's. This car gives you the most bang for the buck. Go buy a race car or a truck if you want to drive like that.

Nice car I got the black on black ct EXL 4wd. You can change the color of the display to four different colors . Amber setting is nice. It's not a sport car that you guys are testing the handling . They don't know how to drive this car . Dummies don't know they got to turn the traction off while testing on little corners . Nice quiet drive with smooth/great suspension. The best average miles I got was 31 miles a gallon for 4000 pounds plus car which is awesome . The turn signal camera is a nice feature . Plus the car side mirrors tilts down while reversing like my 335i and has more features than my bummer . Nice ride for people with family and tons of room at rear trunk . The car haven't seen the snow but I know it will drive well due the 4wd system . Overall great vehicle and looks awesome . I think it has its unique styling you can call it a big sedan or a mid size suv it's just way you look at it :)

We just did a Canada west coast to east coast and back. Awesome drive, excellent steering, comfort, lots of leg room, quiet, best we did was 680 KM on a tank of gas. Did I mention we drove it in the worst snow storms in years without a problem? Never felt safer. No problem starting in -26C weather. Love, love, love this vehicle! And it's beautiful to look at.

the main reason he thinks it handles poorly is all down to his steering technique, keep your hands at 9 and 3 without taking them of the wheel. shuffling the wheel gives you lack of control and is non linear...

I bought the 2013 crosstour. Its fucking awesome!!! Has everything I need. Never meant to be a racing car They think everything should be sport like. Like Honda said its a crossover not meant for racing...Family car not sports Or in there words squeally. O.o And I guarantee yall they could be driving a lambo, bugatti, ferrari, GTR they would still try to find the negative shit bout it.

I've had my 2012 CT for about a year now and I love driving it. It looks nice on pictures but definitely looks better in person. The car has an amazing pull with the 278hp and the interior is very spacious. It's great for someone starting a new family like myself that with one child but pretty sure the ride will still be comfortable with 2 car seats as well. The only thing I don't like about the vehicle is the narrow tires, they should add wide tires like what the BMW x5 has.

It's got an "oddness" to its shape, and that's really my style! The Crosstour is not just uniquely beautiful. I call it sublime. It also is sure footed and nimble on the road. I haven't entered any rally races or auto cross challenges with any of my vehicles (Accords, preludes, Venza, etc), but when I do, I may ses crossovervehiclesin the negative light this little guy does.. Perhaps this guy got a bad one, or maybe his mind was already made up. I know I've driven many cars over the years, and when I first saw a 2004 Accord, I immediately didn't like its looks. After driving it, I could help but love it even though I struggled with its looks. The fact that he had made his judgment before he even did the full evaluation says more about him than it does the Crosstour. Like the first-generation Venza, I'm a huge fan of this car. I miss the crossover vehicles. I don't want the little SUVs (RAV-4, Cr-v, Rogue, etc) that the car companies are pushing on us crossover buyers. I know that they are big sellers, but if I wanted a short, narrow, tall, baby ute with a 4cyl power plant, I would have bought one years ago. For those who want car dynamics, a splash of power, awd, and room for a snow blower, vehicles like the Venza, Crosstour, and Murano fit a niche that pilots and CR-Vs just can't. This guy can't see it from any other perspective, and that makes me question his opinion.

I recently test drove a 2013 Crosstour V6 4WD from a dealer ... I actually liked it (admittedly I am a Honda enthusiast), but the only time it felt "darty" (I am refraining from saying 'squirrely') is when I stepped on the gas. The 4WD system only engages the rear wheels when the fronts slip, and the V6 seemed to produce some serious torque steer - not sure if that resulted in it feeling darty. Love that Honda V6 sound! I'm more curious how it handles on highway ramps and at highway speeds.

This comment might be 10 years too late but I have a 2013 Honda crosstour V6 and it is fantastic for getting on the parkway and off the parkway, I also get good handling when taking turns.

Got one, it's really fast in a straight away like they said. Also it does over steer easy. Having said that I took it to the lake and was able to take 15 mph turns a 50 mph + So it's not a sports car when it comes to handling but it does do 0-60-in 7.6 secs. Fast. The stability control is vary cool. I never had that before but it does wonders off road drifting, because it won't allow you to fish tail.

I don't suppose you've ever actually driven it? Those who have rate it very highly 9see the 80 consumer reviews on KBB). There is a serious disconnect between them and professional reviewers. And in the case of the present review, starting it by saying "I really wanted to hate this car..." and then hating it is what is known in psychology as expectation bias.

Fucky crazy man!!!squirlly?what are you talking about..I think u need to ride the horse not the crosstour because i had 2013 crv then 2014 crosstour v6 3.5 278hp & 252 t and 2015 civic touring but I cannot compare to that 2013 and 2015 because crosstour 2014 is really really fun to drive and a lots of power,handling to drive..crosstour 2014 for me is the best car ever..

I'm not a car dealer, so strike one. Nor do i have a blind spot, strike two. re: "I've never drive n it nor will I" -- strike three. It's people like you, who have never driven it, that seem to have the lowest opinion. Those who have (see KBB consumer's reviews) love it. There is a total disconnect between professional reviewers and the people who actually own/drive this car. When Alex states, "I really wanted to hate this car..." -- then he confirms his bias, this isn't an objective review.

I love this car. I think it's beautiful. I didn't want big bulky SUV, this is a perfect in-between. And it's affordable. Too bad they stop making them. It's funny how he hates the shape but BMW, Benz and a few others has a similar shape. It's beautiful in pearl white 2013 to 2015. Everything isn't for everyone.

In all fairness, when you are dealing with relatively low volume sellers, a few units one way or the other can exaggerate percentages. A car that sells 1800 units/mo one month and 1600 the next will show a ~12% drop, while the same unit difference in a high volume car is a blip on the radar screen. What remains unanswered is why consumers rate the CT highly while reviewers do not. Also, note the CT sold ~7x the no of units YTD as its mechanical near-twin, the TSX Wagon, which Dave & Alex loved.

I bought the 2WD EXL six months ago. The car is awesome! Everything is in the right place and it handles really well. However it is true that the car is not done for sporty driving.

Just a thought about the CT handling again Alex...I've heard others like yourself say they like a heavy steering wheel- giving a perception of stability. Often that weight is due to a taller engine carried higher in frame. Many Hondas are totally opposite of that...more compact&shorter engine mounted lower in the frame (mass centralization) and work best to hit the apex of corners in a "point and shoot" manner. Wonder what type of tires were installed...but probably sprung soft for touring.

I'm not sure this is a completely fair review, given your admitted preferences for other types of vehicles. The styling is a very personal matter. To spank this car in a rally mode is not something, as you admit, that most who might buy this will ever do. My understanding is that this is a comfortable, long-distance cruiser with, as you admit, plenty of space and a nice interior. All of the consumer reviews I've read (Edmunds, KBB) uniformly praise this car. The 4-cyl version is also $10K less.

i dont think this thing is really meant to go offroad or do offroad things or take tight turns like that. i think it's supposed t be a big-ass sedan with a ton of room in the back, but primarily a city vehicle

from automobile mag AMERICAN HONDA +7% Honda's total increase was unspectacular, but it scored a helluva trifecta with the Accord the bestselling car, the Civic the bestselling small car, and the CR-V the bestselling SUV. Honda +7% Beyond its aforementioned major players, Honda saw some gains for its supporting models as well: Fit (+34%), Ridgeline (+48%), Pilot (+20%), and Odyssey (+13%). Only perennial losers the Crosstour (-15%) and the Insight (-47%) were left out.

I like your shows guys. Alex you're good brother, I love your honesty about how a car is bad or ugly, we really need to have correct opinions in the hope car manufacturers would realize the bad things they do and correct them. The only thing I would add is maybe make your shows a bit longer and maybe take the cars to a race track. Otherwise, great job and God bless you guys! :)

Re: "squirrelly" -- 1.) Is it possible that the alignment was screwed up after your pounding this car through mud and ruts on an off-road course for several days? 2.) There have numerous tests and reviews of this car and not a single reviewer has ever described the handling as "squirrelly". "Imprecise", perhaps. Consumer Reports said the original 2010 Crosstour "rides pretty well with good isolation. It's a steady and composed highway cruiser". You need to re-test this in a proper manner, guys.

P.S. On KBB, 80 consumers have rated the 2010-2013 CT. The average of their ratings is 9.3 out of 10, which is about as high as I've seen for any car on KBB as far as consumer ratings go. Conversely, the KBB "expert" rating is 7.0. A similar consumer-expert rating disparity exists on Edmunds. There is a real disconnect here. With that said, sales of the CT are in the toilet. However, I've never seen it advertised anywhere and I wager most have never heard of it. This car is a head scratcher.☺

Oh, please do count up those "many" sites for us. I know that counting all the way up to TWO (including this one) is probably challenging for you, so take your time. When you've finished, try answering the question I posed to HondaPro Jason: "Why do you think there is such a disconnect between professional reviewers and consumers on this car?" It's a legitimate question that deserves a thoughtful answer -- a concept that is apparently just too darn confusing for you.

YTD sales of the Crosstour in the U.S. are 5533, which represents a YOY increase of 8.0%. Still not huge numbers, but apparently, someone ain't gettin' the message that professional reviewers have dissed the CT. Either that or people are simply disregarding what the industry wags opine and are instead listening to those who actually buy it and drive it every day and seem to love it (see KBB's consumer reviews). This total disconnect between the pros and the consumers is worth exploring.

That's a fair statement. Anyone who is totally put off by the looks of a car would not be interested in buying it. And it's certainly true that the resale on the CT is going to be tougher than other Honda cars. But the fact that those who do buy it love it is beyond dispute. And it has very high reliability ratings. I wonder how well this car would do if Honda actually started an advertising campaign. The first time I saw one I had no idea what it was. I'd wager most people have never seen one.

This is total bs. I love my 2014 Crosstour it’s the perfect blend of car and suv ie crossover. I love its speed, handling, style and roominess. Not to mention the power and speed in the road. These dudes are a hot mess 😅😂

I'd have liked to watch a longer video and outside of that cave. First of all, when I saw that you made a Crosstour review I was very excited because I'm a Honda Lover, but this video wasn't as all-around as the other. I'd like a video like you did in the Pilot and the Sorento, showing everything about the Crosstour.

Well, 5500 may be abysmal, but compared to what? Perhaps the expectations are automatically (and unfairly) high simply because it is called "Honda" instead of "Acura". As noted, it has sold 7x more YTD than the mechanically identical TSX Wagon, which no one would call a crappy car. So sales alone don't tell the whole story. I read that Honda actually made the CT to be its flagship, slotted above the Accord.

Google up this (from Goodcarbadcar): April 2013 U.S. Vehicle Sales Rankings - Top 258 Best-Selling Vehicles In America - Every Vehicle Ranked The CT was up 8.0% YOY (Jan-Aprl YTD). The -15% is only over one month. Nice try, though.

I guess crosstour was aimed at something like Outback. But Honda doesn't have the reputation of off roading. Ended up a car doesn't do well on road

I've heard other very negative reports about the Honda Crosstour. I kind of wonder why the BMW X6 doesn't get that kind of reviews. It looks very similar.

Don't believe any negative reports. As an owner, the crosstour is amazing. Does not disappoint in any facet. These reviewers are kind of dumb, and this is a shoddy review

Uh oh Alex....HarryTheDoodle's got it in for ya.......bet you almost care :) My call on this one is Honda prioritized ride quality (soft suspension) over steering dynamics. I think the Crosstour is targetted for folks who have muddy roads up to the cottage.....then kick your butt at the card table !!

Speaking for myself, I am merely an interested automotive consumer. I assume Alex and Dave want to make their channel better and attract more subscribers. Intelligent, well-reasoned comments and questions that challenge them to defend their remarks will, I believe, help them in this endeavor. You might wish to offer some up.

5500 vehicles soldin 5 months is an abysmal amount. that will total less than 20k for the year. revieweres arent the only ones panning the ct. btw 80 reviews for a car on the market for years is another indicator of consumer interest.

I was almost sold on this vehicle until seeing the depreciation is 15k in the first year!! Thats just too much even if I like the car

get one to have a first hand experience, don't sit over the fence like the above two paid presenters to condemn what you have not had opportunity to own. I have an 2010 CT and can authoritatively tell you that no crossover SUV can host a match with CT....It rocks all the way....Also check the real consumer reviews and not professional misinformation.

I've never drive n it nor will I. I've been a loyal Honda and acura owner since the late 80's. Its the new Aztek. Sorry you can't admit its ugly nor that it's been reviewed by many different sites and magazines, MT, C and D for example and received a lukewarm response. BTW I've never had the opportunity to drive a Porsche but found the first Panamera to be ugly as well. I get the feeling your either a car dealer or have a blindspot larger than the Crosstour's(noted in every article)

Look, there really aren't a lot of truly great looking cars. Most are designed to achieve economy and crash test ratings, which is why most are virtually indistinguishable. What I see on the freeway is 99% utterly forgettable boxes with wheels. So to single out the CT's looks in this sea of mediocrity is really laughable. Indeed, it's a point in its favor that it doesn't look like every other car/SUV on the road. Once again, I would point to the 80 KBB consumer reviews 9.3 out of 10 rating.

this is honda attempt and almost, just almost making a hatchback. not quite but maybe persuade people instead of buying an actual hatch or even a station wagon.

A few of you remind me of Tom Arnold trying to convince people how beautiful Rosanne Barr is. This vehicle is the shining example of Honda's past missteps, which thanfully, they appear to have rectified.
