I own one, nice car. I waited till thanksgiving 2017 to purchase new and the car had been on the lot a long while and I paid $23,500, $7990 off sticker. At that price you cant beat it. I wouldn't be eager to pay full price, but I wouldn't pay full price for any car.

funny how americans think VW is not reliable while here in europe its considered one of the best cars when it comes to reliability, while ford is completely the opposite

The reason we in the us pay for less for a vw is due to the quality. Yes they are good cars but the quality and price for the quality isn’t good and doesn’t make sense. In Europe you pay a price for something you wouldn’t get in the US if the European version of VWs came to USA more people would buy them because they quality would be better. We in the US get a cheaper version then those in Europe

Cool car, but the sun roof may leak terribly after a few years. Have a 2014 TDI sport Wagon and the panoramic sun roof leaked terribly and the entire car was soaked! Lucky it was still under CPO so it was covered. I’m dumping that car ASAP. I may look at an Alltrack S w no sun roof. Or an outback.

I test drove the 2019 SEL and the steer column completely blocked my egress when the steering wheel and seats were adjusted. For reference I am 5'2".

how are the lights on this trim? for $31k and to not have projectors is uncool as there are many cars less expensive that come with them standard...did you actually take the car into the hills or just putz around on the dirt lot next to the dealership? what about drive in heavy rain or some other condition that would actually make the AWD system work as designed...for the money, I'd go w/the GSW S w/4motion and use the money saved on some nice wheels or a new bike.

A lot of that is genetics. I have a friend who has never done a calf workout in his life and he makes this guys calves look tiny. Not saying he doesn't work to get his big, but some people, like myself, naturally have small calves and I don't think I could ever get mine to look like his.

it has to be the off-road cladding...all jokes aside, the main reason is because both are of a similar shape, driveline and do a lot of the same stuff, or at least marketed to outdoorsee people, the Outback probably does the off-road thing a bit better, but it is hard for me to look past its CVT...Oh I wish for Subaru to bring back the Legacy GT Wagon of days gone by

Jettas, especially with the 2.5 and to a somewhat lesser extent, the ,1.8t are very reliable and have been since the late 2000s, sunroofs aside ( one can avoid this by not getting a sunroof). Subs had plenty of issues with their anemic and leaky 4 cylinders for almost 20 years the 6cly is rock solid though , and Subs are generally great .

Golf* ...also, you may call it boring. I call it simple with a subtle sense of elegance. I like that the interior is simple, yet accommodating, and not trying to make a statement other than functionality without complication. Doesn't feel like a damn Boeing cockpit haha... Exterior will age very well.

have you seen how much new Volvos cost? The new xc70, now the v90 cross-country starts at 52k, well equipped at 60-65k!

Dave Travels Yeah they have gotten pretty expensive but they are a luxury brand. XC70 has sadly been discontinued. I’d probably buy a used 2012 XC70 with low miles vs above.

$30k is too expensive for that kind of car. The interior feels too cheap. Reliability is also an issue with VW.

We bought that year package 3 years ago. It’s been very enjoyable on trips. We got a bargain from a KIA dealer in metro Atlanta on a fully loaded, low mileage example for $18K. We would have no qualms of buying another one, and we love that oil changes are every 10K miles. Our dog even likes it.
