So after a year and a half of having my BMW Z3, I haven't done a video on the Driving Experience of the BMW Z3. So today, let's talk about it.

Love the video. Have a 01 3.0 manual. Just a joy to drive

Thank you. I’ve heard amazing things about the 3.0. I’ve wished in the past that I got one of those lol

I'm looking at buying a Z3 1.9L. Learning about warming the engine up to pass the blue section! Thanks for the tips
@Phoenixette3 ай бұрын
Of course. Now I think the blue thing is a specific thing for my car (since it’s broken) but, obviously in general, it’s a good practice to let the car warm up a bit. Especially since it’s an older car

According to the owners manual you don't have to warm the motor up just start driving it and it will be good, keep it between the Red and blue and you are good!!

I see what you mean but, for me, my engine is over 25 years old and so it’s a bit on the fragile side. As a result, it never feels 100% driving it cold. For my Z3, it feels more ready to go and normally driving after warming up a bit

I have a 97 1.9 with 15k miles. It doesn’t like the cold either. I always take it easy until it gets up out of that blue. 😊

Couple of questions on what you have on the Z: 1. What aftermarket muffler do you have on? 2. What's that cupholder in between the seats, I tried using the vent ones but they were no good.
@Phoenixette15 күн бұрын
I have a Thrush Turbo Muffler and the cup holders are a generic cup holder online and then the previous owner 3D printed a bracket to keep it like that and put a small rubber mat under it

@@Phoenixette Thanks for the reply! That muffler sounds good, way better than the stock. Would you still keep it if this was your daily driver? And the cup-holder idea seems solid, but is it practical or do they knock against your elbows while driving?
@Phoenixette11 күн бұрын
I'd probably keep it. If I can get my idle to stay still, It doesn't really make a difference in driving experience until you get into higher speeds and I rarely ever has that cup holder ever gotten in the way. I don't hit my elbows on it or anything like that.

I just bought a 1997 2.8 Automatic with 88,000 miles for $5.300. I had to replace the good looking tires cause they were 10 yrs old. Mine is black.
@Phoenixette2 ай бұрын
Damn. That’s a really good deal. How’s your automatic been treating you?

@@Phoenixette It shift very smoothly. Haven't looked into why it has a manual auto shift button yet. Doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference.
@Phoenixette2 ай бұрын
I think it has it just to make it more sportier. Admittedly it’s not too special of a manual mode like an exotic car would have

No blind spots? A-pillars and the inside mirror for traffic coming from a small street on the right. Wind can be reduced by a windscreen between the rollbars, like a perforated mesh cloth will do as that is the original accessoire. Check oil in the transmission as cold shifting at higher RPM can be caused by old oil. Same for oil in power steering, old and or low level. You should not turn the steering wheel to the end too hard as you will put too much presure on the power steering system. Z3 is an unpractical but fun car to drive, especially the euro Z3M with 321 HP
@Phoenixette3 ай бұрын
That’s good to know. I’ve seen a bunch of windscreens online but haven’t bought one yet. I’m with you on the fact that the car is impractical for a lot of things but it still does the job for me as a daily driver so that’s what I mean in that aspect

@@Phoenixette BMW's windscreen are two socks over the rollbars with a mesh cloth between them with zippers left and right with a velcro strap on the top, so you can lower it and access the room behind when the hood is up. The whole thing is held in place with two elastic straps on the back of the rollbar socks to the rollbar mount with eyelets over a pin. You can make it yourself...
