If thuja trees start to turn yellow during the summer, it can be for the following reasons:
When the summers are hot and dry, thujas can turn yellow due to exposure to extreme weather conditions.
First, the thuja tips turn yellow, then the yellowness spreads to the inside of the branches, especially on the sides.
In this case, the solution is regular watering.
In order to protect them from the sun, it is necessary to put organic mulch around the thuja, which will help the soil retain moisture.
A lack of nutrients is another reason why it turns yellow in the summer.
Buy a foliar supplement for thuja in agricultural pharmacies.
We must spray thuja preventively with horticultural oil in the winter while the plant is dormant.
To prevent the occurrence of fungal diseases and yellowing of bristles, spray thuja at least once a month with aspirin and water.
Dissolve 1 tablet of aspirin id 500 mg in 5 liters of water.
You can also spray thuja twice a month with the following solution:
5 liters of water, 1 liter of whey or uncooked milk, 2 tablespoons of baking soda and 6 drops of povidone iodine.
This is an excellent protection or supplement for thuja.
One of the biggest enemies of the thuja is the thuja beetle, a pest that attacks both young and old thuja.
