Alot of our fanbase wanted him moved on with Leno and lacca but the way he nutured and covered for the inexperienced players was invaluable, needed him for another year minimum

I always had a soft spot for Xhaka. Wenger's mistake was playing him as a destroyer while he functions best at deep lying playmaker. Partey covered Xhaka's weaknesses, so he could play on his strengths. I think Rice is a good replacement, while Havertz pretty much plays a different role.

His passing is not given the credit it deserves ..so measured and controlled like Toni Kroos...but Rice is a great passer of the ball as well.

I will never forget the Granit Xhaka - Mo Dahoud Duo in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s midfield. When he came from Basel, he really found ground and shined as a player will never forget those magical days against Barcelona, Juve and co.

As an arsenal fan, xhaka has been exceptional. I wish arteta would have held on to him 1 more season, but we would fill the gap, and we have done well. All the best xhaka im following you in germany.

Arsenal made him grow to be a better player. Unlike in England, German league is more open play then pressing the whole time. Makes Xhaka more comfortable at any situation

Sold for about 1/4 what we got Haverts for 😅😢. And Haverts has given us 1/4 of what Xhaka gave us... Arteta fumbled on this move

He was already good in germany when we got him. EPL was totally different as he does not have so much space to work around. He did improve overall as a player in england and now he is back in germany makes him a better player than before. Wish him all the best. Not the fastest player and tend to lose possesion because of that. But his last few years under Arteta was great. I wonder if Arteta taught him to use his body more. He might not be the quickest to shift his feet to get out of situations but he uses his body excellently to draw fouls when he us under pressure or no where to go.

I don't agree with this being quick doesn't make you good, Busquests wasn't quick? Or Rodri? He was in some ways the best deep lying playmaker in the premier league, Arteta didn't teach him anything he already had it, he should have had one more season with arsenal him and rice would have been perfect.. He is fine under pressure and he didn't give the ball away because of the prems pressing he rarely gave the ball away but when he did it was because he was being played out of position and was slated by arsenal fans for it who didn't understand it wasn't his fault I'm sick of arsenal fans still being funny with him and now saying yeah he was good of ok he had one good season, it bs, underrated he was utter class he just needed a DM next to him and that wasn't addressed till Arteta arrived.. Xhaka could have played for real Madrid he was that good..he is that good

I love bousquets but the chances are that he’d struggle if left alone in England in a single pivot like he did for most of his career in Barca. Doesn’t take away the fact that he’s one of the greatest CDMs of all time.

@@elliotchinneryhinks8554 speed isn’t everything but speed is an added advantage, you can’t deny that. Even pep has said it that speed and strength are needed in modern football more than ever. I don’t know about Bousquets being smarter than Rodri, because in 6/7 years time if Rodri continues like this you may not say this, and that’s how football is because everything Bousquets does, Rodri can do too, maybe not better but he can. Yeah he doesn’t need to be quick but like I said speed is an added advantage.

It really makes you wonder why we let him go. If Havertz was going to be a world class replacement then fair enough but he was never going to be that. In fact, I think Havertz has played much better playing inside right when coming on for Odegaard. I think giving Odegaard a rest and then playing ESR or Vieira inside left could work.
