Claire Macaskill said something very interesting the night of the debate that has been really helping me to understand the "wagon-circlers". I don't have the quote but she said something to the effect of "when you're a surrogate it is your job to put a positive spin on these things." I'm thinking that is part of what we're seeing with these supportive statements from the politicians.

The most reasonable video I have seen so far on KZfaq. You don't win by being good, you win by having a good strategy against your opponent. The interests of the country come first before the personal interests of any presidential candidate.
