That's a valid argument; but so is the fact her portfolio now is likely riskier and it wouldn't make sense to overbuy a see-saw stock.

She reminds me of the other CNBC talking heads who were telling us to buy Bear Stearns in 2008. I can't remember who that was...

@Jennie, the question is not why you are NOT selling NYCB, the question is why you bought it in the first place??
@michaelfromaustin4 ай бұрын
They had a 9% dividend yield and sub 10 P/E. The loss (so far) is $200M and they were profitable for the year. Provided they don't get killed on a deposit runoff, the stock is oversold. The P/E is 0.98 now. So you earn the company back in a single year. That's nuts. It's priced to fail and it's not failing. The bigger risk is a sale which is nudged by a regulator at a price that is still too low but they have to accept. Perhaps Zions will put in a bid at $9.00 and sweep it up with a quick approval.

@@michaelfromaustin you should buy 100,000 shares then? Join Harrington!

As a rule of thumb when a stock gaps down like NYCB has in the past week……..you sell immediately. You don’t plunder through the financials and to try to discern value. You run. Which she obviously has, not sure why she is defending the stock she probably only owns a hundred shares now.

LOL, she's not selling because it's $4 and can't go lower than $0.

The bad planning of failed banks and businesses is never a reason for the rich to fail. You or I make dumb financial choices we lose every time. Corporations, businesses, banks never lose. Only in America.

I can agree, I followed her into a a reit a few years so and realized she sold after talking them up. I later realized it’s a flat reit with no growth in FFO either.

Going Credit Suisse route, straight to zero from here, broke all support levels, blame it on algos yeah, algos know why they sold it all to the ground, cause bank is going under.
@Redsiix4 ай бұрын
She's on a failing company trying to ease other investors by speaking on a network, so she can save as much money as she can so she can sell while this bank declines. The second the price goes up 5 cents from what it is right now she will sell. Pathetic.
