Just the simple fact that his 3rd down conversion % is over 90 (something like 55/58 times he's touched the ball on 3rd down in his career, he's gotten a 1st down from it), and he's only ever "missed" one 4th down conversion in his whole career tells you he's the most underrated PLAYER--not just RB--in the NFL.

I’ve been on this drip since Gus started taking snaps. Dude literally just puts his head down and does his job and does it extremely well. Underrated, is just being modest.

His speed is under rated, his ability to make ppl miss and shiftiness is under rated, errybody knows he’s a power back with how he always falls forwards and always converts 3rd and 4th downs, but the most under rated part of hoos game is his vision, he has some of the best vision I ever seen!!

Since Lamar joined ravens every player on ravens has become underrated because everyone hates Lamar so much they just think the entire team is shit.

There is no actual narration or statistics involved here to show how he is the most underrated player in the NFL. I see some great offense line play with good synchronicity with the running back. In 2023 there was 20 other running backs were in front of GUS when it came to yards after contact. Gus was not even in the top 25 in that category in 2022. I think he needs to be quicker in his decision making and choosing holes once they develop. He also doesn't seem to do a great job in creating extra yardage. He just runs through the holes produced by a great offensive line. Otherwise he seems to be a good running back. Not sure it is bad signing by the Chargers, but I don't see it as a step up from an aging Eckler.
