@jeffk464

I wouldn't make the trade, brand new Bronco the in thing right now in exchange for an old wrangler. I've heard the 2024 wrangler is going to get a refresh so at least it will have all the new electronic gizmos the Bronco has, that would be a worthy trade. It would also give TFL the opportunity to showcase all the new stuff. You know the biggest complaint with the Wrangler is that it wanders down the highway, lane keep assist might make it a lot more pleasant. It will also probably get a similar camera setup to the Bronco.
@Silverback_GMT410
@Silverback_GMT410 Жыл бұрын
@@jeffk464 but what you don’t seem to understand is that they are going to be using the vehicle as a camera car, recovery car, and they’re going to bash it on some tight trails, one which everyone in the company can drive. And as they explained, they did everything possible with the Bronco. And financially it wouldn’t make sense to hold out for a new Wrangler.

Been binge watching everything between all of TFL’s channels & really have learned a ton about vehicles! We don’t get the off roading opportunities here in Iowa like you guys do, but to learn about mechanics (thanks Toby😂) & different drivetrains, suspensions, engine capabilities, etc is awesome cause I love tinkering with trucks & learning more about them any time I can! This is hilarious. Last Friday I bought a 2018 JK Wrangler Golden Eagle. Two door, manual. Why? Partly because of re-watching all your Jeep content over the past 8 years or so. Drove 450 miles to get it and 450 home. Love it for all the reasons you just mentioned in this video. Price wise, paying $35K CAN for an as new rig that has never seen a dirt road let alone off road and has only 18K miles, leaves me thinking that I did OK. Thanks TFL for all you do. Education and entertainment all in one place. ✌

Smart buy, basically the same one I made a couple years ago with my low mile built JKU. You will have to likely replace the oil cooler and will have to keep an eye on the diffs/axles if those actually haven’t been beefed up at all. Still those additional costs down the road are nothing compared to the $$$ saved up front.

Not the gov that now pays union less then mcdonalds not the gov that blamed workers for making too much and that's the reason behind high prices bc now they make less and vehicles are up 10k a piece for an iPad in the dash. It's the manufacturers ripping us off after they showed up in private planes and limos to ask the public for money knowing they would fail and re do all the contracts for less but make billions later all off us. I suspect the JKUR-AEV will be able to tolerate a bit more trail abuse than the Bronco. Big bonus is how many parts are floating around if needed. Does it have SpeedBump bump stops or something similar? That would really help it soak up the bumps and help the videographers get better footage.

Good choice, and actually a great price in today's market. 1. If you spend time on the highway, replace those hood latches. Sooner than later. 2. Though I agree with you on the nav system, it is known for beimg glitchy. 40gb HDD with barely 20gb available was a common problem, and they dontend to sketch out over time. Still, I love it and don't mind the flaws. But one more thing, ..."synthetic lights"?

Just about every all terrain tire out there is better than a KO2. KO2s require tire rotations like every oil change or they will cup badly. They are super noisy on the road and I’ve seen many mud terrain’s that are quieter. Ik lots of people that used KO2s and hated them. I recommend Falken Wildpeak A/T3W to anyone that wants offroad capability and great on road performance. They don’t cup unless you never rotate them and they are extremely quiet on road and they kill the KO2 in wet performance and winter conditions

For Tommy: Do lookup DARPA SHAPE SHIFTING WHEELS which turn from ROUND into Triangular-shaped snowmobile-like TRACKS at the touch of a button and back again to a Round shape with another button-touch. You guys can get one of your local builders to CNC machine your own or buy them directly from a DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) contractor. Since they were U.S. government-developed, they are public property and you can get CAD/CAM plans at a relatively CHEAP cost and machine them yourself. You can also contact DARPA itself and get an in-person driveable demo (i.e. usually installed on a Humvee!) from one of the local Army or USMC bases! Shape-Shifting wheels are the NEWEST WAY to get through all sorts of soft snow, ice, mud and sand. I also suggest you get a GREAT CAD/CAM artist to see if you can design and build retractible PUSH-THROUGH steel studs (i.e. half-inch diameter steel rods) that come in and out of holes drilled into the rubber tracks themselves so you can get through the gnarliest of icey and snow terrain. The tracks/wheels are actually a 2 inch thick belt of standard tire rubber with a good 3-peak winter-rated M/T tread design on them that are supported by a six-piece articulated hydraulic frame and piston mechanism that goes into multiple shapes from round wheel to triangular track shape. Press a button when needed and the steel studs come out through the tracks just like Cat Claws and another button-press they retract into the shapeshifting wheel infrastructure for on-road driving. Make sure the retractible steel studs work in ROUND wheel shape mode and in the Triangular-Track-shaped mode! Put these onto the Jeep, on the RAM 1500 or even on a Dodge Grand Voyager Minivan just for kicks to see what happens to off-road performance using DARPA Shape Shifting Wheels! If we can get MORE of the truck manufacturers to look at these types of DARPA SHAPE SHIFTING WHEELS and put them on modern trucks/SUVs and also sell them as refit-kits for older vehicles, we can bring futuristic multi-terrain 4x4/off-roading INTO THE HERE AND NOW !!! Selling the Bronco, under 10k miles, while demand is high is smart business because, after all TFL is a business. I owned a 2015 JKU Willys for almost seven years and going to a ‘22 Bronco was a huge difference, especially in transmission and driving experience. For their use case, it probably makes sense to go for a used vehicle that fulfills their requirements and that’s great, for their situation. Everyone may have similar use cases but most of us don’t have the same requirements as TFL. ✌🏼

the tricked-out 2023 compass with the 2.0l turbo 4x4 is about $34K and I may end up buying one as soon as it shows up at my local dealer

Gotta be hard to get rid of that sweet Bronco! I get it though ..you guys need new content all the time. Plus at under 10k mis you will surely still get a premium selling that awesome off rd beast! Got a '23 Ranger XLT Tremor on order since Jan13th thanks in part to your indepth reviews ..& my friend has a '19 Ranger XLT FX4 that's just an awesome truck. Been impeccable 4yrs/ 47k mis he's had it so far & its so overengineered w/T6 frame/proven Gen2 TGDI powertrain/heavy duty 10R80 from F150/Dana axles etc. He pulls an 04 SVT Cobra terminator w/his Ranger all the time & it doesn't miss a beat. Blows me away how easily it pulls 5k+ lbs (fully enclosed trailer) Anyway look fwd to many more great reviews in that Jeep! Get a new '23 Raptor R for content!!! 😀 👍🏻

I looooove my 2015 JKU. I think the newer (2013-2018) JK generation is the best!

The Bronco was cool, but time to go. I like the JK with the add ons and somebody else took a huge depreciation hit. 👍🔥🇺🇸

He talks about how wonderful and capable it it is; and then talks how it is too expensive to use off road much. A perfect argument why the bronco doesn't make any sense

In 2021 I bought a 2017 JK with low miles (36,000) for $35,000, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I have driven it though narrow canyons in the Mojave Desert that I think the Bronco would be too wide to go through.

It's a good idea to switch cause the jeep is so much cheaper to fix and do mods!! I'm thinking of getting a Power Wagon!! I've had a 2013 jeep wrangler and it was a nightmare!!

Wasn’t tuning in cause I dislike ford with tiny turbo motors in a 4x4. Saw this and I tuned in. I have a 2017 JKU 3.6 manual & a 2021 JT ecodiesel , because of tommy he’s the man. I have a 2010 JKU sitting at the shop and I want to do a hemi swap.

Haha I hate the system on my JKU. Yes it’s quick but takes forever to connect properly to Bluetooth and when you turn off the vehicle it does not automatically reconnect, you have to go through all the motion’s again.

thought it was going to be a wrangler 392 with 37s but everyone is saying they are getting too many high end vehicles that are not practical for most of the folks. So they got something older and unique but it is practical with an aev twist. Cannot please everyone but I give an A for effort.

But JLU Rubicon 3.6v6 + 8 spd auto with xtreme recon package is a much better wrangler to start with? That $4000 xtreme recon package you get crazy value for money imo and properly equipped to run 35in tires including gearing.

Put a splitter on the camera lead and put a switch in, put a camera on the front and you now have a front and rear camera. Oh TOMMY TEACH THOSE BOYS HOW TO DRIVE A STICK/MANUEL! They will thank you for it. Great video Tommy as always. I really liked your description of Nathan on a waterbed
