Fun fact: Barb’s dad was actually voiced by the legend Ozzy Osborne, and the girl who voiced barb, Rachel Bloom, said in a bts video that she was actually really nervous to cover his song because Ozzy was in the room while she recorded it.

I think friendship is a mix of Poppy and Barb's respective perspective. It can come from random encounters and happen in a flash, but it needs time to truly connect and create the perfect harmony and the deep trust. After all, all friendships starts with being acquaintances and then advances towards friendship, with the speed depending on many factors, like one's personality, common ground...

except that was a very uncharitable interpretation of Poppy's words. Poppy's naive optimism can be grating at times but she is by no means superficial about her friendships and saying she hopes they can be best friends doesn't automatically mean she thinks it's something you can just immediately jump into being.

on one hand i agree but on another it isn’t completely poppy’s fault either. what else was she supposed to do? everyone would have been turned into rock zombies. plus they can’t blame poppy for “pop ruining everything” because it was her ancestors not her.

Very perfect timing on this reaction since the third film literally came out yesterday! Interesting fact: This was the film that really began the change of theatrical release windows as this went straight to VOD due to the COVID shutdown after being promoted to "theaters only". It also made AMC theaters really angry to where they decided to not show any Universal films due to the studio's decision until they eventually made a deal. It was a massive success on PVOD, and other studios tried repeating this same strategy.

Still looking forward to your reaction for the sequel for Rio. Hopefully next week since Thanksgiving is coming up which is a family centered holiday and Rio 2 is a fun, animated family comedy with birds in it as well as entertaining musical elements.

26:02 yes I enjoy songs that are about love even though I am a hopeless romantic who has wanted marriage at the age of five my favorite song of 2023 is Cupid 💘 and this one is my favorite from this movie although I don’t understand why people have a hard time telling the person they love how they feel (I am autistic so I am trying to learn how to be more social so there goes my chance at finding love)

Poppy was horrible in this movie! Not only she ignores Branch's advices but she also never send a letter to Bridget; her best friend, to warn her about the rock trolls. Not even a quick visit saying '' Hey i found there's other trolls and wants to meet them. I'm going on a trip, bye! '' Her attitude was horrible plus Poppy NEVER appologises after all she did and say. Branch deserved a better girlfriend than her!

Well, Poppy can be quite oblivious to anything that is not part of her "perfect world". All her life she lived thinking only Pop trolls existed and, because of that, she thought that the other trolls, despite their different taste in music, were all like her and the others: cheerful and friendly. Branch, on the other hand, lived most of his life in fear of Bergens and indifferent to everyone (except Poppy), all while trying to deal with the sadness of losing his family. He knows that the world is not all sunshine and rainbows and that not everyone is nice. I have to agree that Poppy was on the wrong here, she should have listened more to Branch, instead of being selfish and self-centered. However, she just acted according to her own nature and this movie only contributed to her own evolution as a character.

I think Trolls 2 is the favorite of the franchise. Songs are excellent, the settings and characters are varied and the moral is very interesting to explore. Poppy remains positive while making questionable choices and that's a good thing. Branch also stays true to his personality and they have some really cute moments. But this film may have its qualities, but it has its problems. Tiny Diamond doesn't appear much compared to the publicity it brought, and that's a shame. Cooper also has a little arc that I really like, which matches the moral and I would have liked us to see more of it (especially since I love funk trolls). The other types of trolls are fun and interesting to discover, but we don't focus enough on them. Like the techno trolls who only appear at the beginning and only come back at the end. It's a shame because I love their designs and their music. And very questionable plot facilities: How do the pop trolls find Barb's lair and arrive on time? How exactly do trolls reproduce? But hey, apart from that, this film gives me just as much excitement as the first one. If he had pushed his ideas to the end it would have been excellent, but for what it gives it's already good❤❤❤
