I honestly don’t think it is her house. She is living with family willing to take on the burden of taking care of her. It might have been her home when her husband was alive and she was mentally sound. I am 77 and living in my own house now, but I have disabilities involving my spine that make it hard for me to take care of myself and my house as well as I should. I may have to live with my daughter at some point. Neither of us would be happy about it.

I've seen this before. When people aren't in their right mind, they seem to think they can jump in the shower or bathtub and the police won't come in. It might just be the vague notion in the back of their mind that other people aren't allowed in the bathroom while you're bathing, but it's hard to understand people's motivations sometimes.

Hard to have a lot of crime when there are 200 people in town, and the rest of the population all live 10 miles apart. Most of the problems in rural areas is just substance abuse issues, particularly in poorer rural areas, but they don't have much in the way of violent crime for the most part.

Did you not notice how long it took for more then one backup to arrive? This area seems like a place where there might actually only be 20 deputies, but they are spread out on a massive area. But also yes, this area probably doesn't have much crime, except for drug use and drug use related crimes.
