My favorite combine no doubt! The 1680 we ran would chew through wheat with the best of em!

Thank God for the American farmers,who feed a huge portion of the world.

When running combines for a living, you learn how to make them not a headache. Our boss did enough work on them during the winter months that we only ran into a few minor issues. Three combines cuts three times the wheat too.

Wow that first song makes me remember all the times I rode along with my Dad in the combine. Every line of the song sounds like whoever wrote it was sitting right there with us. I remember falling asleep in the front corner of the cab once sitting on the floor watching the header take in the harvest and the next thing I know I am being woken up to be taken into the house. I LOVE THE FARM LIFE. I miss it actually.

we eat and use the stuff these farmers crop and grow everyday each year and we forget all the hard work thats put into it sometimes and each process its goes through to get to us.

nah were done cutting for the year now. Just did wheat during May and milo in July, and our season is done! Down in Texas they had one of the best years ever, drought was not a problem for us at least. Its frying everything else though!

I eat 2-3 bowls of whole grain every day. I also eat a LOT of chicken and farmed catfish and a little beef. Yes, the chicken and fish eat a diet of over 97% grain/soy. The cattle eat a lot of hay and forage, but grain and even some soy enters their diet as well. God bless the farmers, custom harvesters and their precious combines, too. The combines are true catalysts in this big scheme.

We don't farm any. We do custom work around Altus, and then custom cut Milo down in Texas later in the summer. We had about 6,300 acres of wheat and 3,100 acres of Milo this year.

Yep, not a lot of crop thats for sure. But unlike most crews, we didn't travel far from Altus. We'll be down in Texas cutting almost 4,000 acres of milo for July though.

We've been getting quite a bit of rain here in central Texas. I sure hope by now, you've had sufficient rainfall as well. We needed it soooo badly, after 3 years of drought and two years of rampant wildfires. One nearly caused me to have to evacuate. I thank God the winds changed. I feel so badly for those who ost homes, businesses and farms in Texas and Oklahoma.

Nice Job..One of the best harvest video and audio tracks I ever seen/heard! Enjoyed seeing the Altus fields again. I worked the summer of 1978 for Custom Cutter Merle "Rip" Van Winkle, Rip was based in Argonnia, Kansas - we started our run in Altus, OK - we might have even cut some of the same fields. We ran all IH combines 1- 1460 Axial Flow and 2 older IH 915's. Enjoyed your video very much!

Some Hp is increased on the later models. The 2166 does have a really updated cab, compared to the 1660. I've run 1680, 2188 and lastly, a 2388. The 21 and 23 have the newer fanning mill system. They also process crop faster than the 14's and 16's giving them more overall capacity, while maintaining size. Good luck on your next combine purchase. Just take care of it.

I worked for Kevin Cole & Sons the whole summer. I ran the 1680 for the majority of it, taking film from the cab which is why you don't see a lot of footage of the 1680.

I must say I'm jealous of you guys. There's nothing I would rather be than a career farmer.

The closest dealer for Case would be Box, Inc. or Dixon-Kirchoff, Rother Bros. is another within a reasonable distance.

Gotta love the john deere round cabs we have one our selves!

It depends on the crew. For this job, I got paid by the hour, but I don't think its that way everywhere though.

yeah spending 30 grand every 1500 hours, if you cutting that much it was be cheaper to run one 9120, it can cut just as much as those three old machines combined.
