Hi Xb, I’m the artist that drew the picture of Bishop that you reposted on Twitter. I am so sincerely sorry for your loss and can only imagine what you and Ferks are going through. I'm so sorry for your loss. Skizz says that having a pet is the best years followed by the worst day of your life. I hope you guys are doing okay and that the pain of loss will turn into nostalgia and remembering the good times when you're ready.

A very wise man once told me this, after the first time I lost a pet: “I firmly believe that pets are put on this earth to teach us how to do two things: how to love unconditionally, and how to grieve.” It gave me comfort in the darkest days of loss, and I hope it might bring you some small measure of comfort, too.

There was no need to apologize for the intro, xB. A few years ago I had to part with my own dog, which had been around since I was a child. It's never easy to deal with these first days. But don't forget the good times. I have no doubt that Bishop was well taken care of and lived a happy life. Focusing on the memories of the good times was what helped me get past the initial grief. Even if I'm welling up when writing this. My only regret was that I barely had any pictures of my dog. He was a good boy and sometimes I wished I could just look at his photos to remind myself of the good times I definitely understand wanting to distract yourself. That did help me move on and return to my everyday life. 20:00 I didn't trust the process and was super confused how that would turn out....it looks great actually!

Bishop will always be snuggled up in your heart. He had a great life with you. Now he can chill with Jelly and TFC. I’ve had to say goodbye to two floofs. It’s heartbreaking. I’m so sorry. You were lucky to have each other. He knew how loved he was.

That intro was raw man - I am very sorry for your loss. That hit hard and brought back memories of when we had to put down our little girl. She was so sick and had held on as long as she could but eventually the cancer got to her and we had to put her down. Its never a fun conversation, but the knowledge that your loved one is no longer in pain is comforting amongst the pain. I wont lie i didnt expect to have a cry this morning watching an xB vid haha. I’m so sorry for your loss. When my first fur-baby crossed the rainbow bridge I also had him cremated. I found a UK based company called “Ashes Into Glass” and sent them a small amount of his ashes to turn into the most beautiful engraved pendant I wear every day in his memory. I haven't been watching you for long. I don't know much about Bishop and your relationship to him. But the way you talked about him says a lot. Honestly, I feel like crying myself faced with your apparent grief. But I hope that Bishop has found peace now and that you can soon remember him with fondness and love. I'm so sorry for your loss. The hardest part of having a dog is having to say goodbye so soon. He must have been the goodest boy.

Sorry to hear. I feel your pain. My cat died at 16 just 10 days ago after two months of being effectively unable to eat anything due to his digestive system failing (liver, pancreas, etc. it seems in cats they have a tendency to fail together). I was lucky that my cat didn't seem to be in pain at any point and just slowly consumed himself until he was just skin and bone, and when I saw that he was no longer able to move and no longer had the energy to do anything but breathe and wait, I brought him to the vet. I cannot imagine having to make the decision in your circumstance. All we can do is know we gave them the best possible life that we could.

I'm sorry to hear about Bishop, xB. Regardless of how we lose a pet, it hurts all the same. I lost a pet in August and rescued 2 more (his brothers) in November. Gizmo taught me lots in the 16 months he was with us. (They're cats, I'm not allowed dogs). "Just for now we are apart, but keep me safe within your heart. I am at the Rainbow bridge where I'll wait and play until we meet another day!" - unknown (this was the little note that came with the pawprint bracelet I bought my daughter as a keepsake). "Pawprints on the soul like footprints in cement!" - ME (when I lost my boy). Gone but never forgotten. Rest in Paradise, Bishop!

I'm so very sorry, XB. I've had a few of my fuzzy family pass on in the last few years, and they take up so much space in our hearts, it leaves such a big hole when they leave, and the hardest days are the ones where you're trying to figure out the new normal. I found it helped me to make a shadow box for each of them with their paw print, photo, and collar. The act of making them was really cathartic. I also received the remains from my last kitty to pass, and sent a small amount to a company called Spirit Pieces, where they incorporated them into a little glass sleeping cat, and I had no idea how much comfort that would bring me until I got the piece back. And finally, it's become my signature on the Minecraft Education worlds I author to hide my cats, past and present, somewhere in the world, and I also find comfort in knowing that digital piece of them is still out there, guiding kids through learning with Minecraft. The journey of grief is different for everyone, and there are always bumps in the road, but I hope you find the things that bring you comfort, and the memories that make you smile again.

Thanks for that intro, brought back memories of putting my dog Wally down. It was a good remembrance cry session. I got his paw print and it sits on the table by the front door as he’d always greet me there. Really sorry for your loss! It is definitely devastating, and you can’t always know how much you dog meant to you until it’s too late. Really sorry that it was so unexpected for you.

I got behind on my Hermit episodes and have been catching up on all of them in alphabetical order. I am just now getting to this episode. I am so genuinely sorry for your loss xB. I know acutely, and too well, what that pain feels like. I grew up with a dog that we had for a total of 14 years. He meant the world to me and was a friend when I had none. He may have never known it, but he saved my life on many occasions. While I was away at basic training, a mere 10 weeks long, he suddenly became very sick, and they had to put him down. I only found out about it in a letter from my sister. I had called home to my mother a week prior, and he had already been put down then, and she didn't tell me. She thought I would get too upset about it and didn't tell me when I called. I'd give anything to have been there when he passed. I know it's hard, and painful, but look at the silver lining. You were there when he passed. He felt your love.

I feel for you XB. I just recently had to put my fluffy pal down due to cancer I know exactly how you feel. It’s been about a month and I still think about him every single day and some days are very emotional, and hearing about your loss opened the flood gates. Especially when you said how he spent his last moments comforting you. I still remember how my guy gave me one last kiss and laid his head in my lap as he went to sleep

My Bayer’s last act was comforting me. Its been 2 years and I still cry. Take your time, do whatever you need to. I used minecraft as a coping mechanism as well.

That intro hit really close to home. My dog had to be put down at the beginning of last year and each reminder of him hurts just as much. I heard about Bishop via twitter and I am very sorry for your loss. I used to have lost 2 huskies over the years and still have one alaskan malamute and I know how hard it is. Sometimes people wont understand your grief but it can hurt 2nd to only losing a child. Wishing you well xB

I am so sorry for your lost. I can hear how much you loved him in your voice. ❤ My chilhood dog "Lucky" was 13 and his health rapidly started declining (he developed cancer) and we decided to put him at rest. 10 days later our 5 yr old dog "Max" developed an autoimmune disorder and his kidneys stopped working and we had to put him down too. Its been years since and I still have their ashes and a paw imprint. ❤

Pets are a true testament of love. Love is complex, sometimes scary, but always beautiful. Pets exude love in all meanings of the word. Complex because I still love my dogs even if a stinker was left on my floor. Scary because as the saying goes, "Flowers are beautiful because they never last." Finally it is beautiful for the very fact that it is pure; it asks for nothing. When in our world has something never had a cost? RIP to a very loved boy.

A couple years back now our cattle dog suddenly got sick and was diagnosed with cancer. We still think about and talk about him almost daily. We chose to get him cremated as well and have plans to get a handmade glass marble or footprint with some of his ashes incorporated inside. It's hard losing a member of the pack. My love to you and your family.

So, so, so sorry to hear about Bishop. My fam went through a similar thing 3 years ago. The hardest thing my family went through together. She had so many things wrong with her and was too weak to survive surgery. So, we turned our home into hospice care and tried to make her last few months as comfortable as possible. I am so deeply sorry for your loss of Bishop. They truly do make a big impact when they leave. The heartache is crushing at times, and it's incredibly hard to breathe. My deepest condolences to you and your family. ----- I had a dog who developed IMHA(immune mediated hemolitic anemia) at just 2 years old. It was slowly killing her and she wasnt herself. She had red blood cells at 15(normal is around 50) and her liver was failing(she was jaundiced, you could see it in her eyes and gums). It was so painful to let her go but it was the only feasible thing to do. Its never easy to let them go no matter their age or the circumstances. Again, I am so sorry.

Aw, xB, I’m so sorry about Bishop. My family had to put our first dog, an almost 12 year old Yorkie named Abby down in July of 2015. Going to the appointment was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done, but I had to be there for her. I still cry when I think about her. We also just had to put down our 15 year old Teddy Bear, Riley, in August while I was in a different city for work, and it broke me. He was the sweetest little guy, and I still miss him every day. I know it would’ve been hard to be there at the appointment, but I desperately wish I could’ve said goodbye and given him one last hug. If you’ve never had to deal with the loss of a pet before, my only advice is to do whatever it takes to help you grieve, whether that be taking some time off from recording or whatever else you need. I wish that last summer I could’ve taken some time off after they put Riley down, but I couldn’t because I had already used the 3 days off work I had. That definitely negatively affected my ability to process the loss and grieve properly. Everyone needs different things, so do what you feel is right ❤

Never imagined I would ever cry over a Hermitcraft intro. XB I'm so sorry for your loss. I know the pain of letting them go. Sorry about Bishop. Had to go through the same thing five years ago. Didn’t think I would ever get another dog but I did after three years. It never replaces my previous dog who will always live in my heart, but I had more love to give and I am so happy we did.

Thank you for showing such vulnerability during a difficult time. Sending so much compassion and empathy to you and Ferks. Our pets are our babies and it's hard when we have to say goodbye. I have cremated all my pets over the years and the last two cremated felt like they were part of my heart and soul. It's been 1 and 4 years, respectively since both passed for me and they are always with me. Having the paw print in the dried clay helps me during the harder days. In one of my clinical trainings, I had a supervisor share with me that grief is just the love we still have for our loved ones and I like to think that whenever I become sad with grief.

This hit hard hearing you like that, but i find comfort in the thought that Bishop was loved and appreciated for his own little soul. God bless.

My dog Theseus died just over a year ago and every time I tell the story I cry a little and I'm not an emotional person at all. Without going into too much detail here's what happened: He was only like 3 years old but out of nowhere he got sick and could barely move then a couple days later he was perfectly fine then a day or two after that he was worse than he was the first time. It was super weird and seemingly out of nowhere. I was really worried so I called some local vets and they couldn't see me for a few days so I asked my sister if the veterinary clinic she worked at could see us (that one was much further away hence why I didn't start there) and she explained all clinics will see pets in emergency situations but she was able to make an opening at her job for early the next morning. He was bad and I kept thinking I need to take him somewhere now but I decided to wait until the morning for financial reasons but I couldn't sleep and I got out of bed at like 5 AM and went to the living room (where he always slept at night) to hang out with him until we needed to leave but when I saw him laying in the floor I knew I fucked up and I should have taken him somewhere the night before. He was breathing so hard it scared me and when I sat beside him he looked at me took one last huge breath out and that was it. He was dying in the living room floor for possibly hours just waiting to see me one last time before he could give up. I messed up so bad. It hurts knowing that I shouldn't have waited until the morning but it kills me to know he fought through his suffering just because I wasn't there. He refused to die until I left my bedroom. How long did I make him wait?? I cried a good bit. At least you took proper care of your dog. I didnt

Five years ago my Boxer of 2 years old got diagnosed with Sarcoma all throughout her body and I had to take her to be put down. Saddest moment of my life. She did the same thing as Bishop and comforted us to her final breath. I will miss that dog so much.

xB I am so sorry for your loss. The courage it takes to talk about this kind of stuff on camera, especially as young as Bishop was...my respect 100%. You have always been one of my favorite Hermits because of how real you are. If I remember correctly Bishop was a husky/mix. Huskies have a lot of health issues so they love hard and can be gone too soon. As a husky lover I feel your pain. I don't cry often, but your intro got me welling up because it made me think of my boy Atlas who was my first dog that I raised as an adult. He died of cancer at just 8 years old. I am not the praying type, but I hope you and firkz can find some healing in your lives and eventually get to a point where you feel okay with having another dog. Sending all the love, I hope you feel better soon and realize that Bishop would want you two to just be happy and enjoy your lives as exemplified by his comforting you in his final moments. Remember, even though our pets are a huge part of our lives. We are their whole lives. And when a pet loves you, it shows what a good person you are. I love you xB, and my heart breaks for you.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember when you and Ferks were talking about looking for a Husky puppy and now he’s gone way too soon. I like the thought that our animals are waiting for us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. I’m not going to say that I believe it, but the vision of my sick dog transformed to the healthy and happy version of himself running in a technicolor meadow on the other side makes me happy. I'm so sorry for your loss, pets become such an important part of your family and losing one leaves such a hole. When I lost my sister last year one of the most helpful things I was told about grief was that your grief is like a balloon floating around a room. In the beginning the room is so small the balloon is constantly touching the walls and the pain hits so often, slowly over time the room gets bigger. It never really seems to hurt less when the balloon touches the wall but it happens less often and becomes easier to live with.

Oh man I had watched a few other hermits through season 10 and I watched your most recent episode so I then decided to watch from here as I’d seen most of the start of the season from most angles. I decided to start from this episode and it took me a while to realise this wasn’t part of your minecraft story it was real. I was watching you to relax whilst under the influence of my medicinal cannabis for my pain… so when I realised it was real I just felt your loss so deeply. I’m so sorry you’ve lost your fur baby but maybe minecraft Bishop is a special reminder that he is with you and he loves you even if you can’t see him 😢 I hope that helps you feel not so sad when you see Minrcraft Bishop on your Season 10 journey. Maybe he gets to forever live in Hermitcraft & he comes with you to each new season. It would be so sweet for us to see you journey on with Bishop in every season to come!

Bishop will live on in our hearts, in game, and in your videos no matter what; i had my dog pass away…he was my first dog, and at least you were able to get him go a vet…my mother, denied taking mine to one, and said ‘hed be ok’ or ‘he doesnt have long’; so i know the feeling and the pain (not trying yo compare it at all), and i had to sit with my dog and watch him pass, while i was holding his paw

I’m so sorry to hear about Bishop. He had an amazing life with you from everything that you have shared about him over the years. He is watching over you from the rainbow bridge and will be with you always.

Im so sorry xBcrafted, im so so sorry... i know all too well the bitter sting of losing a beloved doggo. Its been nearly 10 years since we had to put our dog down and it was the hardest day of my life. He was with us for almost 18 years, just 3 months shy, and he was like a little brother to me, a true member of our family. Nothing can prepare you for the loss of such a loved family member. All i can say is what helped me greatly is pictures, save and print out lots of pictures and hang them up when you are ready.
