In this episode of Hermitcraft Season 8, Mumbo makes HUGE MINECRAFT BASE PROGRESS on the Mumbo Minecraft mega base. Converting the Minecraft sus armchair into a green eutopia, fitting perfectly with the peace love and plants mantra. Mumbo also makes a Minecraft peaceful XP grinder, and finds a new Minecraft Horse.

The only thing bugging me about the waterfall is the fact there is no visible source of it on the top like a Pond or stream I gueniuenely believe if you add a lake on top it will make a world of difference

adding more moss/mossy stone around/behind the waterfall also seems like quite a nice touch and would make sense with the humidity there and all.

Putting hidden campfires under the water gives an effect of mist where the water hits the mountain. You can also jut some blocks out to separate and direct flow. Just remember to hook them to prevent the water from just overflowing. Keep at it Mumbo!

Impulse has an iron farm under his base that's been basically running non stop, I'm sure he'd be happy to make a trade with you. He needs a lot of dirt, Blackstone, and copper for his mega base so if you have any of that he might accept a trade.

Something that might help with the waterfall is to remember that water “cuts” into things. It will look more natural if the waterfall looks like it’s carving into the mountain. Also, it’ll help to make it look like it’s coming from a source such as a pond, a hole in the mountain, or some kind of ancient structure like a water mill or aqueduct. Can’t wait to see how this base turns out.😁

Yeah I was thinking something was off, but maybe it's because there's not enough crevices. Water creeps down cliffs like vines, so it'll follow the crevices too. Big waterfalls don't need to worry though because they've nearly eroded the rock

Mumbo should breed up a God Horse and mate it with his "Horse" to get a Mule that is faster and hoppier than any other horse on the server, so when people go "That's not a horse" he hops on and zooms.

Same thing really. There's hardly any difference between Mumbo and Grian. I mean, They're both British, they're both even English, They're both from the Western part of England, sure they live 3 counties apart. They both play Minecraft on the Hermitcraft Server, they're both fairly popular, and sure they look different and speak differently, but I bet it's just a clever disguise...

I think adding mini ponds small ways down the mountain where the waterfall flows will add a lot. And of course, from that pond, the waterfall goes down onto maybe another pond. And then maybe into the lake. Whatever fits!

I find it absolutely adorable, that last season mumbo pointed at a custom tree from Scar with some bamboo pointing out of the leaves, and he was baffled and amazed. He said "that is the scale of detailing I admire and I want to learn" or something like that and now... Look at him putting some bamboo pointing out of his leafage

Well a waterfall makes the water actually fall through the air. Your waterfall is more like a waterslide. You should make a cliff of rock hanging over the side so when the water is falling off the edge it doesn’t actually touch the mountain behind it until it gets the the bottom. That way it looks more natural and you can get a REALLY cool view behind the water fall.

Mumbo, What about a Cave behind the waterfall, like in those books in our childhood! That could be your entrance into the armchair mountain, which contains all the farms, and if you go a further to your right, it connects into the hill of grian's base, and exits out into one of the shops in the alley that grian is planning. It would be jolly nice if you did that.

Hey Mumbo, Just so you know, you don't have to take off your armour and have every piece of equipement mended on it's on. All thr armour you're wearing will automatically get xp if you have mending on it.

Fun fact that mumbo will never see: to make a donkey/horse jump higher, you need to hold down the jump button until the bar at the bottom reaches orange then let go, and you jump really high.

I believe I have an ODEA: the waterfall in your base would be perfect for an entrance into the mountain (you could fly through it) + you could create a ledge to block the water with a possible red stone contraption to push the ledge outwards.

I reckon the bamboo looks good, youd be surprised at how much it can brighten up a build. Scatters of melons and podzol also brings both a brighter colour and some warmer tones in terms of the podzol, which can make the green pop so much more. the armchair's loomung great so far though, its shape in general looks phenomenal

I feel like most timelapses are just showing it with music on, so most of the time I skip a time lapse. Yours is great b/c it's actually you talking during it which is like 90% of the point of watching a letsplay. So yeah, you have one of the few time lapses I like.

You should add more direction to the waterfall. Make it flow onto different platforms making little pools on each one and kind of go back-and-forth down the entire build

suggestion. when you add the waterfall to the build, have it come from a pond that is fed by a hot or cold geyser. it will add life to the water if you do that

If Mumbo actually continues on with the horse, I hope he tries his spuds at horse breeding. It's actually quite a satisfying feature of the game, and it fits perfectly with Mumbo's gimmick for this season. After a few generations you can get a horse that moves faster than a minecart, and jumps several blocks high.

You can increase the confusement by breeding your 'horse' with a horse to get a mule. A mule is a bit faster than a donkey but can still have chest on him for extra storage!

I love bamboo as a way of sectioning off areas on the low ground with a sort of wall of like 3+ deep bamboo, but it also changes sightlines so that should be considered.

Using a few different types of leaf blocks will help with colour contrast highlights. Spots of darker Spruce for depth and lighter birch/ acacia on tips to indicate older more dry/ dying leaves (don't over do them). Shorter bamboo with string dotted around in small clumps and isolated stalks will give added colour and height variation. The occasional custom small tree wouldn't hurt. there is often some old weird tree growing out of a cliff side on large cliff sides Some further variation, maybe a small pool of water with vegetation part way up the water fall, then a different direction water stream and a few rocks jutting out of the water fall can provide further variety. It is still all very early days in Mumbo's big build and the finer details like above you usually add on after the main ground detail layers as part of the finishing process to help make things pop.

You could put a lake at the top of the “armchair” as well which would be the source of the waterfall, I think that would look really good. You could use it to contrast layers in the civilisation with the wealthy people at the top lake and the poorer people at the bottom. Then again, perhaps in utopia there is no class system so it could just be a method of transport or a source of power (hydro-electric power is very sus). The water from the bottom lake can be pumped back up to the top lake, producing both a cycle and a water elevator for your own use, giving both personality and purpose.

Trees are really cool and can connect via their roots and fungi to give each other nutrients, such that a tree with no way of supporting itself like a stump and continue to live using the nutrients it’s scabbed of its neighbours. So, if you leave one tree in the forest, just pretend you hope it supports the rest! Peace, love, and plants!

I had one tree that was a bushy mess. It looked more like a really tall bush and not a tree. So I stripped all the leaves off and cut half of the tree so it as half as short and for about a year of trimming and keeping it healthy, it turned into a really nice tree after that. I kept care of it and made the leaves like a big rectangle as a little challenge. It was wonderful. I kinda miss that tree after I moved.

Mumbo, adding different levels or tiers to the waterfall will definitely give it a bit more depth. And tinkering with the way the water flows down, adding a bit more turns will help spice up the waterfall :)

A tip for waterfalls is that you should have a space between the water and the stone, this not only looks more realistic but also gives a sense that the water has some force behind it and there is a place behind the waterfall where you can do something cool. Also putting campfires under the blocks at the bottom can create cool particle effects.
