For the shop: Make a filter that takes any Royal Emeralds out before they can be accepted as payment. When one is taken out, it activates a dispenser that fires an arrow at the hermit that dared to attempt paying with those things.

Cool idea. But I'm not sure that it'll make the system narrower. The side redstone and the clock are the widest bits. But maybe the modules could be stacked two blocks apart like this: _‾_‾_‾_‾ :, to slide them into each other. May save two blocks per module.

Here a few ideas to improve the module: 1. While the upper etho-hoper clock lasts long enough to restock 2 stacks, I see an issue if someone buys another 2 stacks before the restocking ends. Because that would cause less ro be stocked than is taken out. You can trigger the dispensers roughly every 4 seconds or so and restocking takes 20 seconds. So I think the minecart should run long enough to restock 10 stacks to account for this issue. 2. Payment should be redstone based and automatically check => issue of getting royal emeralds
@PeteSudlow
@PeteSudlow Жыл бұрын
Yes, the upper etho-hopper clock should run based on the front comparator output that Iskall is using to check stock. 2 birds, 1 stone.
@excalibear6994
@excalibear6994 Жыл бұрын
@@PeteSudlow EXACTLY my thoughts + u get rid of upper etho-hopper clock so its less space needed and less resources. Because u really dont need to make exactly 4 runs if the dropers are filled it turns off itself Also another idea is that he can make some kind of maintenance room with lamps to see how many double chests are filled and how long before he have to restock certain item so its easier to gather and plan
@dannyjepp985
@dannyjepp985 Жыл бұрын
Is restock speed an issue? Customers and employees would keep the area loaded, and it's unlikely a customer is going to buy out the entire stock of one item (144 stacks!). A single hopper chain connected to the stock chest would be slower, but if you put the stock indicator light on the last dropper in the hopper chain, at least the "in-stock" accuracy would be correct. I guess a hopper minecart divider would also work. I feel like this edge-case suggests the build could be more simple and as a result have a smaller profile and use less resources.
@CaineDM1955
@CaineDM1955 Жыл бұрын
@Super_D: There might be a simpler solution. Depending on how prolific "BART" is, the upper dispenser might be replaced by a hopper pipeline, and the comparator would then measure the TOP of the pipeline, to warn (by turning off the lamp) that this item needs to be restocked before it runs out.

Not sure if it's possible but would be nice to see you do videos for both series. Having you missing in action for a 6+ months when Vault Hunters starts up seems to kill your momentum on Hermitcraft. With regret i cannot help but notice that Season 9 of Hermitcraft seems to be following the same pattern that was started at the end of season 7 and continued into season 8. - Season 7 was absolutely fantastic, but unfortunately the season ended up fizzling out near the end when the Pacific storyline was being played out. - Season 8 saw a flurry of content at the start of the season, but soon wound down entirely as well. Now in season 9 the same pattern seems to occur: A flurry of Hermitcraft content at the start of the season, with a quick transition into few and far in between episodes. And with Vault Hunters season 3 starting, i don't expect any change to this soon. Compound all of this with the fact that viewership for Hermitcraft episodes is way down and now on par with the Vault Hunter content, and i think i'll have to conclude that Iskall primary focus switched from being a KZfaqr to a Streamer. I can't really find fault with this of course. But why o why did Season 7 have to be so good that it leaves me pining for a new season of Hermitcraft of equal quality, while at the same time presenting me with the situation this is unlikely to happen anytime soon... if ever.

Suggestion: stack the modules. if you make a tower, it will simplify the structure and allow for more building details. the auto restock would go up a bubble elevator and zig zag its way back down the building, dropping each level. the building would then fit in a small footprint. if you wanted, the "control center" aka the rectock, would be at the top, so no bubble elevator would be needed. the purchasing would be at the bottom. the restock alearts would hypothetically go up a row of torch tower, and could fit side by side without interfierence, so no fancy redstone needed to wire them all up to a wall. also install a timer or bulk order button, so Grain cant spam and break the system. no idea if you'll see this, but i thought i'd throw in my idea. plus, if you need to sell more items, just add another module tower to the side and link the redstone, minimal effort needed.

I see one major issue with your current restone modules. What happens when people want to buy multiple of the same thing. Right now the experience for buying in bulk isn't great. You are going to run into issues with your hopper clocks if people press the buttons again before both operations are done, and there is no indicator for when they will be done. I'd recommend dispensing an item each time the button is pressed that sets off the first hopper clock, and then the second, and then returns. This way you won't ever miss orders or restocks from people pressing the button too quickly, and the orders should be able to be fulfilled without having to wait for the restock to finish.

For the shop: instead of trying to dispense 64 items at once you could pre-fill a hopper minecart with the items and then use the new unloading system (see ilmango) to break the hopper minecart into a water stream that would deliver the items. While the items are being delivered a new minecart with hopper could be filling up waiting for the next button push. Off the top of my head I would use a dispenser to put 4 different unique items in the minecart before filling so only 64 of the items you want to deliver can be added to the minecart and then after breaking the cart you could pick them up with 4 standard filters. You would only need one of the collection systems. I wouldn't worry about getting the unique items back to the dispensers unless you think you will make more than 576 sales.

I always really liked how over-designed the redstone megashops were. It might not be the most convenient to use, but they were certainly is cool to use if you know what is happening backstage. Of course the project should be manageable, but I think that with Pacific, you and Mumbo were well on your way. That payment system mumbo designed was truly amazing and I am sure there are other hermits that could very well design some super cool redstone that would take the shop to the next level (both in functional and entertaining ways). Anyways, I cannot wait to see how it all will turn out!

Sadly, Doc inadvertently cheated by using the same tool for various blocks. I am glad he didn't find a box, and hopefully comes back to play it right. Love the entire digging idea. Quite a money maker!

Does using the wrong tool still use more durability? If so then he didn't really cheat he just played less optimally.

@@Erkle64 Well yeah. But you said, what’s the point? When you say that you shut down discussion. The reason why people are telling Iskall about Doc’s mistake is so he can confront Doc which = content/collab/fun.

@@Erkle64 Jesus Christ dude. Get a grip. Verbatim, you said and I quote “so in the end it is hermitcraft. It doesn’t really matter”. Notice how I did not use quotations marks when I said “But you said, what’s the point?” Because I wasn’t quoting you. I was rephrasing what you said. Both phrases are equivalent. To that I stated “you shut down discussion.” and so that is why I replied “k” previously as in ok as in okay as in if you don’t care to discuss rationally then I will give you the bare minimum response of “k” because your response was not even worth the effort of typing out ok. I am way too verbose, careful, and specific with my own words to be a bot. That’s an ad hominem attack I do not appreciate and would prefer you refrain from.

The omega king returns! This felt like such an old school Iskall episode (like a season 6 episode) and I LOVED it. I started watching Hermitcraft mid season 6. Initially watching Grian, then Mumbo, then you and you became my #1 favourite hermit incredibly quickly. You had only 3xxk subs back then, I think, and I couldn’t understand why you were so underrated! You had it all - building, redstone, humour, that special sauce that is Swedish and the uniqueness that was your personality. I think you were amazing in season 7 and the start to season 8 but nothing beats season 6 when I first discovered you and then rewatched your old Island LP and your many modded series (you also introduced me to modded Minecraft) and of course Season 4 and 5 of Hermitcraft. Your epic relationship with Mumbo, from being strangers to you pulling him out of his shell in season 4 gradually, to your hilarious collabs like the Build offs and all the many End-busting streams as well as your relationships with Stress, Cub, Scar, Keralis, Bdubs (it was through your eyes/episode that I was first introduced to Bdubs when he fell!), and then you even introduced me to Etho and Beef via Hermit Wars. It was your modded collab (Enigmatica Experts) with Etho back in December 2019 when I first subscribed to him. You were my gateway into Hermitcraft and it’s not been the same without you. I absolutely love Vault Hunters, your modded baby, it is an incredible feat to create something so beloved and fun to not only play, but watch because of how different it is to other modpacks. But Hermitcraft!Iskall is a juggernaut, a significant pillar of this beloved SMP. I know things can’t go back to the way before and maybe they shouldn’t, but what can I say? This episode caused a lot of positive feels for me and I wanted to share my excitement. The fact that you want to “assemble a team of a builder and a day-to-day manager” is pog. Can’t wait to see who you have in mind. Anyone who joins will be better for it as your sense of humour and camaraderie is unmatchable and makes the other hermit’s content better by simple association. With your shop, perhaps consider selling shulker boxes by the payment chest? Not sure how it is in Sweden but over here in Canada several of our stores have gone fully plastic bagless. We must bring our own canvas bags (shulker boxes!) to bag our shopping or pay a pretty penny (diamond!) to buy a canvas bag or paper bag from the store. It would be cool to do that for your shop, to provide convenience… at a price! Also, be aware that Impulse is building his own Impire “iBUY” where he plans to sell everything. He has farms for nearly everything but he doesn’t have a BART. He has access to Tango’s bartering farm though. So you will need to price your wares competitively. And if you open your shop before he does, you’ll tip the scales in your favour. Impulse is an amazing hermit, he reminds me of you a lot, so I’m excited to see the two of you go head to head. A lot of content can be generated organically from your rivalry. :)

Redstone suggestion: Replace the honor system and button with a simple hopper with an item filter below that only accepts diamonds, locks the hopper when it's running (so it works with as many diamonds as you want, and locking when it's out of stock). Better user experience (drop how many diamonds you want of a purchase, and no honor system).

Just an idea, but droppers can be placed vertically, one facing up one facing down, with hoppers feeding into the lower one on the side you should be able to bring the module width down to 3, and I think stackable right next to each other, would have to experiment with it. The only drawback is that you wouldn't use ice with would make delivery slightly slower
