I should have split this episode into two, but you get a super long one instead! Today we do a bunch of farm building projects; a squid farm, slime farm, cave spider farm, and froglight farm.
We set up my ender chest refilling stations and look into a new idea for a super simple multi item sorting array. Then we check out what Hermit Permits I got in the random drawing and do some permit trading.

- revolutionizes item sorters after years of people using the same design - its so much more compact and fits multiple items in one tileable row - it requires next to no redstone and fewer hoppers - the design came to him in a dream - he buried it in a 1 hour hermitcraft video

Much as I love Etho, as a technical player I have to say this is not as revolutionary as you make it out to be. The storage tech community, yes there's a whole subset of the technical community that just focuses on storage, has created many MIS (multiple item sorter) systems that are more compact and user friendly than this one. That being said this design is certainly innovative in its use of minecarts and water mechanics and has a very low resource requirement compared to other designs, so it definitely fills a unique niche as an inexpensive early game MIS.

Besides that, a lvl 30 enchant will still only consume 3 levels and we can disenchant with grindstones. For the glass shop, since you have the bright vibrant glass colours you could have Gaude-E-E's, basically the opposite of Shade-E-E's where the build is absurdly bright and colourful possibly with a mix of the brighter metallic blocks to really push the gaudiness. Something else that you could work off of is a shop based around stained glass windows like ones found in a church, could also be home to the stone shop with a name something along the lines of stones and stains.

I don't know if anywhere else in the world has a similar thing, but in St. Louis, MO a local philanthropist in the 1990s got extremely curious about the local-area archeology. He put out the call on the ol' Dunder Mifflin social media app for any interesting historical artifacts or natural-sciences tidbits. After amassing a large warehouse's worth of stuff donated to him by workers and students, he bought an old 8-story hotel nobody was using and turned it into the St. Louis City Museum. Everything from bugs (dead ones pinned to display cases) and fish/reptiles to fossils and rock/mineral samples to random doodads from long-gone decades dug up by construction workers has a place inside. Being it was intended to be an 8-story learning-playground for kids, something like 85% of the building's entire volume was built as a maze-like rat-warren of secret tunnels and odd passageways that ran interconnected throughout the entire 8 stories. On the roof was a playground area with a ferris wheel, a couple slides, and some small areas (one of them being a schoolbus held halfway off the building) for climbing around in. I doubt you can build something similar in a small enough area and still have it look good and not feel annoying to move through, but I think this could be a nice idea for the glass shop. A similar idea would be a callback to OGtho's glass-tube mob-filtering attempts from early Minecraft and before Chocolate Island.

42:37 Yeah, the US and Canada are a part of the CUSMA/USMCA/TMEC/whatever it's called in each specific country with Mexico too. Previously a very similar agreement was known as NAFTA. It doesn't cover everything, but it covers a lot. The US is not, however, a part of the Trans Pacific Partnership, while Canada, Mexico, and nine other countries around the Pacific are. The US was involved with potentially joining it, but following the 2016 election withdrew, and the TPP was somewhat changed into the CPTPP agreement in force today. This may have been what Doc meant.

@@The_Bliz Yeah really I don't think the recipe would exist today in Minecraft if a similar update was released. It's a throwback to the 1.8 update when I think the Devs were worried that players with existing worlds wouldn't be able to or wouldn't bother getting the new blocks, I guess because exploring took a lot longer with no elytra or quick form of travel. That must've been years ago. I reckon most players aren't aware of it as when you think about it those 3 stone blocks were added are now some of the oldest in the game (within reason.)

Fwiw, I think the better structure for the glass shop will be a corporation: each Hermit who contributed a permit gets a share (including Etho for his original permit); Etho gets half the revenue for running the shop; the remaining half of revenue is the profit distributed evenly among shareholders. This simplifies the bookkeeping quite substantially and evens out the variance for each permit.

Just spitballing here, but it'd be kind of neat to see a spore blossom farm set up like a UFO floating in the sky. You'd have bits of moss or green concrete floating down below it, and you could figure out a way to have it kind of "beam you up" into the shop area, which would be shaped like a spore blossom. As for the stone shop, I'm envisioning some sort of stone sculpture of a giant hand reaching up from the ground and holding, somewhat akin to a serving platter, the supply for your shop. Excited to see how the glass conglomeration goes! And loving the videos as always :D

For the glass shop, what about something like a huge magnifying glass made of the different colored glass blocks above the shop? When the sun passes overhead(calculated approximately using daylight sensors), the shop's floor would automatically switch into magma blocks and dispensers would set some unburnable blocks alight - so it'd be like the sun is focusing down and razing the shop and any customers within, ha! Maybe the unburnable block could be swapped with soul sand for blue fire when the moonlight focuses through the magnifying glass too!

Glass shop ideas: Fulgurite: Make a mini desert or beach and make an explosion of glass (like what happens in real life when lightning strikes sand). You could put a trident with channeling on top so that when ever someone enters the shop in a rain storm, the shop is struck with lightning. The void: Use layers of glass to make a foggy river/pit effect or put a dinosaur in amber or "ice". China shop: Turn shop into a decked-out inspired game where a "bull" runs through certain parts of the shop. Other business ideas: Advertising... Acquire as many permits as possible, then allow others to trade, but charge taxes or just out-source collecting the items.

Hey etho, I think a fun and interesting project that is very much your style would be an automatic colored glass delivery service. Once people set up their mailboxes, you could have a system where they send one of their own stamps, a renamed selection item (provided at your shop) and their diamonds. At your base, you could have smelters set up and glass waiting to be crafted into colored glass (or glass panes). Their stamp that they include with the order gets cycled and tells it where to go, the selection item tells you the type of glass to have auto crafted and the number of diamonds tells you how much glass they ordered. Then you could use a round robin system and the selection item to do a 50/50 split and even send off other hermit's diamonds to them when you fill a shulker to a set amount of diamonds. It would be a lot of work, but it strikes me as the kind of project you would enjoy doing. You would never have to worry about restocking a shop or overstocking any type of glass, only restocking your sand stockpile. You could even set up a noteblock indicator at your base to tell you when you need to go blow up a desert again :D

You should make a glass shop that when they buy a glass they pick the color and it auto crafts to what color they pick , that way you can have a couple stacks of normal glass and it only makes what’s needed instead of pre making a bunch of each color . Now that we have auto crafting , you could also add another step of just having sand ready and when color is selected it’s cooks , then dyes the glass ,kind of like krispy creme donuts how it’s a step by step on a conveyor system :) . Love the videos ❤

The permits are a great idea but I immediately see an opportunity for shady E, pick a hermit who is selling something that is kinda expensive to make (beacons, netherite etc) and constantly go and buy out their whole supply until they get their permit revoked and then since you already have all the items from the shop, go ahead and buy the permit and then sell them back to the hermits at a huge markup

I love how we are this far into the season and there are STILL hermits living like myself in my worlds... just clump of chests in a field with a bed. Lol! I decided i didnt want an actual storage room on a server with some buddies as im building a Murloc settlement along a beach. A normal storage room would look dumb and take up way too much space to fit into simple Murloc huts. So i decided to instead spread my storage around the beach in a way that it doesnt look like storage. For my stone types, mostly because they are the major "bulk" items, i built boulders of different stone types with a chest or 2 nestled into/next to the boulders. The granite boulder houses the granite storage, etc etc for other stone types as well as a little clay pit for clay storage. The rest of the storage is setup on the beach near a hut and janky dock, it looks like a little outdoor workbench to make some furnature or clean up some fish, etc etc... its amazing what you can do to hide storage by having it in plain sight but melded into the decorations and landscape. Kind of like what Grian did last season but much smaller and solid boulders instead of the large hollow shells filled with chests he had.
