17:08 Being locked by freecam is usually caused by taking damage while in freecam mode, and I'm guessing you were withered when you tried entering freecam. I can usually fix this just by quickly going back into and out of freecam, making sure I don't take damage this time.

For wither mining: Bring it to second phase with a bow so it stays on your level. Then use snowballs to hit it, since it breaks the blocks around it every time it is hit and snowballs will maintain the process longer than hitting it with a sword. Make sure to have a long tunnel prepped. Question: I haven’t tested can you do turns in the tunnel?

Mining deepslate with withers is one of my favourite things! As long as you can get in a good rhythm with punching and have a long enough tunnel, it is so much quicker than mining it manually and very satisfying!

There's a simple way to reduce the climbing spiders and kill them: signs and water. They climb up, hit the water and swim, then drown. Takes a little while but works if it becomes a problem!

You can place open trapdoors a block below the ceiling, and then place water on the ceiling above the trapdoors to drown the spiders! Their drops will fall down to be collected as well

Because spiders have a tendency to go to certain corners over time, it can be helpful to put powdered snow (because it isn't solid, deals damage, and doesn't emit light) in those corners so the spiders don't build up and fill the mob cap.

The Wither mining was actually an Etho idea from last season it is just in the redefining process by Tango and now you apparently.

An use instant harm splash on wither keep its health up, can go forever one guy leads, one guy digs, one guy cleans up with shulkers. When guy is done, have 4th guy come back with shulkers.... Repeat.

An alternative to the magma blocks at the bottom of the mob farm is campfires on top of hoppers. Which one is easier may come down to what you are trying to do with your items. I really liked that intro music, very Floyd-esque.

Maybe you can slightly relocate the item flushing water to a spot where the water only needs to come from one cardinal direction (thus not from 2 sides like it's currently set up), and release the water with a waterlogged trapdoor. Since the state of trapdoors depend on being (un)powered, they would be self resetting if they ever get out of sync due to partially unloading the farm.

That opening guitar riff had such a Joe Satriani feel to it. Amazing stuff Xisuma.

you can add water below the ceiling to drown the spiders putting it in each corner blocked by lichen would be the best solution unless you want to be fancy and use powdered snow but I don't think it's any faster

I almost wonder if you could set up a single layer of lava in the fall chamber with spiderwebs below it to slow their decent long enough to die mid-air. This would allow the items to fall to the ground and into water channels without having to worry about mobs surviving the fall in the current design. Still doesn't address the spider issue but in my mind is still a simpler kill method while maintaining your desire to not use hopper minecarts for collection.

Tip: if you use this Wither mining method in a mountain biom you'll get a lot of wither roses as well because of all the infested deepslate you'll encounter. The Bedrock Wither gets you a lot more blocks of his charge attack after he's below half and the explosion that happens at that point and after you kill it. The Bedrock Wither is scary.

Lava ceiling (or suspended/floating lava ceiling) I find is perfect for eliminating spiders that like to climb walls just to hang out.

Instead of magma blocks at the bottom, you can use mud with berry bushes to deal the extra damage, and the mud would allow you to use regular hoppers. unless you need the hopper-minecart item flow speed that is...

X, spiders tend to climb up to the top of the wall. If you place powdered snow around the top of the chamber, it will kill the spiders or cause them to drop to the bottom. I don't know that it will significantly increase your rates, but it does reduce the annoyance of having them hanging around in general mob farms or spawner farms.

Food for thought, dig the spawn chamber for the wither deeper so that it does not explode as much ceiling and raise as high.

If you never take the wither to half health you can stand further back and just shoot with arrows. between each arrow and let the wither get health back and you can go on for however long you want. Ive always done a 3 high tunnel so i can stand even further back (idk if 3 high is necessary). While watching I had test it. I was able to get over 10 stacks of deepslate with 54 arrows in under 5 minutes and without getting the withered debuff. Thank you for the amazing videos!

Xisuma! I also have this free cam glitch! Sometimes for me it helps going into freecam again, clicking, then exiting freecam again and im able to move. It’s usually caused by getting damage while you’re free-camming ive noticed

Hey X, you can use the Auth Me Fabric mod and you can re-validate your session without restarting the game, it adds like a little button where you can reauthenticate. 👍

I regularly wither mine 100 block tunnels solo, its usually the perfect timing to collect the first blocks the wither breaks before they despawn

I think the way to do wither mining is to go invis, spawn it and let it idle and shoot blue skulls (the non-targeted, they shoot in random directions if it doesn't see a target) which take out more deepslate.

Withers only explode blocks upon being hit- I think ianxofour's obsidian farm exploits this trait on the obsidian platform that loads every time an object goes through an end portal. Withers passively heal, so punching and slashing is actually pretty good.

You can also use snowballs when fighting the wither. It will act the same as your punches.

You could use powdered snow to deal with the spiders that climb, saves needing to do too much additional work.

The Wither will not break blocks unless it maintains aggro. To aggro the Wither, all you have to do is hit it or have direct line of sight to it. Hitting the wither with snowballs doesn't deal damage, and maintains the aggro, so be sure to keep it in Melee mode and throw snowballs at it :D

Note about Wither mining: Pearl has been doing that for years. She's really good at it, even in single player.

its so funny seeing how you and tango did the wither strip mine, after a long time on my server, i have already taught all my friends how to do it, and that's' how i regularly strip mine, because normal strip mining isnt interesting enough xD

I am sure it has been done because there is usually nothing new under the sun, but that was a super creative way to use water streams on the mob farm collection system. Gets my imagination flowing for other applications like that.

You could set your item collecting water to run every 2-3 cycles of killing mobs instead of every cycle if the timing gets harder/awkward, it would leave more item entities around for longer so probably worse for a server, but a potential option if other options don't work out.

I'd replace the dispensers with waterlogged trapdoors. That way, no matter what occurs, the redstone will correct itself instead of desynced dispensers.

Snowballs might be a better option for wither mining.
