Hero Dog Gets 'Victoria Cross' For Saving SBS Troops In Afghanistan | Forces TV

A military dog who helped save the lives of Special Forces troops in Afghanistan will today receive the Dickin Medal - the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross. Mali, an eight-year-old Belgian Malinois, has been recognised for his actions in Afghanistan in 2012.

Man's best friend, give them the same respect, the job they do is still heroic, they are armed forces personnel, they put their life on the line, to protect their handler the dog gives100 % how many of you reading this think the same about your boss, 😀😀😀

Great to see as its further evidence that our military dogs are valued as equals among soldiers. And to get the VC . Wow! Amazing. Even Blair Mayne didn’t get the VC something I think btw should be awarded posthumously to the amazing man. But again well done all involved in this wee feel good story 🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧👍🏻

With there specialist hearing and going through 3 grenades and shooting and the dogs compionship with its owner is why that special dog is still alive and all the troops big building big job little said job done!! That’s us brits 🇬🇧

Dog should be used for breeding. Proceeds of sold pup's could be used for PTSD and war widow charities. Heroic bloodline deserves to be preserved.
