@@dreadknight0 Problem actually seems to be that they did not put enough effort in to the sequels after this. So it became forgotten because they did not squeeze enough out of it. For some reason people simply did not want to but a subpar experience of the previous game. Weird huh? Personally I like some of the directions they were going with in 6. I like that the art direction was less cartoony. And there were some interesting aspect on gameplay. I really disliked them pushing in some dumb meta progressions that made it seem like you had to work to unlock stuff. Urgh...

Ehh, his work in MM8 wasn't the best, but then again that game overall was a weak entry. But his work in MM6 and MM7 was superb.

I recently learned that the main motif of this track is known as "dies irae", which has been used for over 800 years to signify death in church symphonies. It has been used in various film soundtracks to underline death or unease. There's a fantastic video on this topic here on youtube. As soon as I learned about this, this amazing game and this specific song popped in my head after years of not thinking about it.

On the bright side, Ubisoft is reportedly hiring people to discuss making a new triple A might and magic game. Just hope that they manage to get it right like Heroes V.

This game blew my mind. I wanted HOMMIV because that was my first and i missed that game alot. The new strategies confused me because i didnt understand the skills, abilities, stats, hero combat vs unit combat, res management, growth vs upgrading, faction strats, etc.

***** Narrow or realistic? For every invention / discovery made by a person of non European descent you can name at least a 1000 which was made by a white person. You can start with the black inventions myth (like peanut butter and traffic lights etc.) but that will not really get you anywhere. If you are in front of a computer in your room chances are that you cannot name anything in your room not created by a jew/caucasian/asian male.

Despite the similar title of Dies irae, the lyrical segments are entirely from Roman Catholic responsory "Libera me" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libera_me ): (...) Dies illa, dies iræ, calamitatis et miseriæ (...) Requiem æternam dona eis, Domine (...) (background accompanying choir)

Personally, I only played with Heroes 3(including AB, SoD, WoG -->I found so much fun in WoG), Heroes 5 (with both expansions), and now playing Heroes 6. I still have all of them on my PC and have already made all the campaigns at least once(with 3 and 6 once, with 5 like ~5 times and I just finished with 6) and I must say I fell in love with all of them. I don't know how you can easily say that this and this one piece of this gem is better than the others when all of them were so unique and different and enjoyable on its own, even though the fact that all has their mistakes, too. Just gotta love the series, peace

@svacar "Dies illa Dies Irae Calamitatis et Miseriae" translates roughly as "this day of judgement and wrath will bring calamity and misery." It's part of a poem called Libera Me and can be found in the wiki.

The song is actually called "Líbera Me", or, "Deliver Me", sung at at the absolution of the dead, right before the burial of someone.

Heroes V are developed by a Russian developer team, Nival Entertainment (they took some style from Etherlords). My favorite heroes, though Heroes of M&M 3 is kinda better (well, it's perfect). These are definitely WAY better than the 4th part. It's the same universe as Might&Magic games but it is still a TBS.
