From what she says , she has talent and brains... she was denied the opportunity to use them.. Another broken soul, God bless her. And l would say Noooooooo... at this juncture in her life , the last thing she needs is a man in any shape or form... she,s too fragile. She needs to sort herself out first and get out of her toxic relationships... l hope she finds the strength.

@@leonardodalongisland addicts will always be addicts, you have to accept that to stay sober and know your own limits. Accepting that you are an addict does not mean you will always be in active addiction. I’ve been sober for 10 years, but I understand not to put myself into any situations that could potentially lead me back down that path because even a decade later I still get those urges sometimes especially when life gets tough. It’s a lifelong battle.
@leonardodalongisland
@leonardodalongisland 2 жыл бұрын
@@justinsnider9772 Justin, thanks for taking the time to write that. I'm aware of that "philosophy." I wonder if you're aware that that's not a law made by the Universe or "god" if you believe in that. It's one line of thinking. The same way there are 10,000 different diets to help people lose weight, there's more than one way to "kick a habit." I'm not of the same school as you. Although I've never been a addicted to drugs/booze, I have had an issue with sex. And, I've know way too many "chemical" addicts. I also know people in the rehabe world/business. And I know that the "return rate" is about 85%. EIGHTY-FIVE PERCENT!!! That's insane. And over ninety percent of those returning are of the same mind set as you. So speaking empirically, we can only conclude that that way/theory/"school" isn't working. A good friend of mine quite getting high all by herself. She doesn't consider herself an addict-but she does admit she once was. She has total control over her life. And, ever now and then she'll eat an edible or have a drink. And not do it again for months. She's perfectly fine. The reason she's perfectly fine is because she's in control. She doesn't "give her control and power to a "higher power." she's knows that['s BS. There is no "higher power." It's only us. And "us" is in control of us. If I lived as a "sex addict" I'd be afraid of this and that. And I'd feel lesser of a man/human. I'm not afraid and I'm not lesser of man/human. I'm someone who had an issue -which was the foundation of some bad choices I've made. And that is all BEHIND ME. My friend, when you learn that you are in 100% control and you can put your past behind you-I guarantee you will be free of addiction and a happy-productive-loving-Living person. Best to you. Just remember, there's always more than one route to your destination. (and google maps can prove that :)

This series inspired me to strike up a friendship with a homeless dude in a local park. He lives at a picnic table, even sleeping on it. He's been there so long that it looks like a mini landfill, and he smells like you'd expect. Turns out he's an Air Force veteran (me too; he outranked me) who suffered successive strokes. Bruce is cognitively intact, but does repeat himself frequently. The worst part is that he's got an affluent full brother a mile away, but the guy's wife doesn't like him. Bruce harbors no ill will toward anyone, and there's no evidence of any addiction issues. The VA is providing for his medical needs, and we're looking for apartments and vehicles in his $ comfort zone. As soon as his state ID arrives next week, he should become a former homeless person. Ty for these interviews that show us how richly textured people are, all people, and a helping hand is owed to all of us

My mother did a lot of shit to me and despite that, I ran after her love almost all my life. It took years before I could get over that need of my mother's love that was coming from the little girl in me. It's only a child reaction that last unconsiously. I saw that many time in group therapies, usually women. From what I've seen, men seems to run after their father's approval and pride.

I think your journalistic style is unrivaled...kudos once more Mr Mark...love the Appalachian videos!! Sending much love from far western KY ❤ And when she said "how many people get to raise their guardian angel?" The most eloquent statement I've ever heard on your channel. I too am able to say I am one of the fortunate souls that can say I am one of the lucky ones. My son saved my life and I feel privileged to be his Mom. So much love

I just watch these and cry because any one of these people could have been me, would have been me if it wasn't for my family. They fought for me when I wouldn't fight for myself. My mom would search the streets for me, pull me out of trap houses. She is an angel. I realize alot of people don't have a mother like I do. I have relapsed many times by I give it to God because I have been clean over three years and I have my children back. I am so great ful to God for all the blessings he has given me.

Drugs are the only things that keep people from killing themselves. So sometimes the thing that's the most self destructive is also the only thing keeping them around. Amber, you didn't deserve the hand you were dealt. None of it was your fault. And please know that guilt is a useless emotion. Everyone does the best that they can with what they have at the time. What did you have? You were used, abused and traumatized. Your wings were clipped before you learned to fly. You did the best you could and you're still doing the best that you can. Give yourself credit for being the smart, wise, compassionate person that you are. Your imperfections are your battle wounds, nothing more. You deserve a life of peace and contentment. I'm sending you healing thoughts and wishing you a brighter future.

Car repair is 300 but is might as well be a million..I’ve been there and know that scared, hopeless panic, especially when your a parent. This young lady has a true mother’s heart bc she said he worst point was when her children were removed from her, and her highest point was with he children. When she said, “How many people get to raise their guardian angel.” Out of the 10 or so I’ve seen, this young lady seems to have the most giving loving heart. I’m praying God will help her to find a way, provide Godly compassionate people in Amber’s path so she can try to return to school, get an education, provide for her family. Amber, be strong, stay clean, cling to your beautiful hope, and keep trying, bc you’re an intelligent, well spoken young lady who has obviously learned from past experiences. I have faith in you Amber, and I’m praying for you.

I start watching this channel in the last 20 days today I am 28 days clean from fentanyl/heroin. Was on last 6 years everyday, I was on it before and methadone for 7 yrs straight got completely clean for 5 yrs and now just got off again after 6yrs. I havent watched the addicts videos cause it’s hard for me to hear about using. I know how hard and why people loose everything and dies over it. Most people can’t do it look at overdose rate. I am lucky to still have my shit but as I sit here now I wish I could speak to people one day about this to let them no from someone that has lived the shitty life. Opiate are no fun like I liked the buzz obviously but after 6 month a yrs it’s only to maintain and is a crutch that u have to have to get up and when it get to that point it’s no fun it’s hell and I think people think that we get it to get hi and not me I didn’t I did the same amount the whole 6 yrs knock on wood and in 13 yrs have never over dosed but anyway it’s not fun after a long time it’s just a have to

"Family dysfunction rolls down from generation to generation like a fire in the woods, taking down everything in its path until one person in one generation has the courage to turn and face the flames. That person brings peace to their ancestors and spares the children that follow." It's not too late to get clean and take responsibility for your children. You have choices. You are not powerless. Your children are still babies. You owe it to them to fight for them to be in their lives... as a mother should be. Put the drugs down and pick up your children.
