The DevOps Roadmap for 2022 is available for free at devopsfordevelopers.io/roadmap One of the hardest things about learning is understanding how the different components work together. Using this guide, you start with a topic that interests or relates to you. At the end of the section, other related topics are shown allowing you to pick and choose your own path to DevOps mastery.

Great video. I was looking for some perspective between their services because I'm just starting with Heroku's web application features for a Dash Python project and was wondering about AWS and other options.

Thanks. Was wondering if Heroku would be enough for hobby projects or if I'd likely hit a wall but seems pretty clear I'll stick to Heroku for ease of use unless I hit a cost wall or need MongoDB

Heroku is great for hobby projects and much larger. If you need a database, they offer a lot of built in integrations with common platforms

Excellent video. I'm in beta using heroku/flask/react. I want to hire a back end dev and potentially move to Django/AWS. My question is whether I should go live with current tech stack and migrate later or switch before live launch. With heroku I'm not dependent on back end dev as me and my front end developer can handle everything. If the only downside of heroku is costs of scaling I'm inclined to stick with heroku.

I would 💯% stick with heroku until it becomes the limiting factor for growing your business. Any effort that doesn’t push you from beta to stable is a distraction.

Can AWS be handled by one developer?

For a small team, sure. Just make sure that one developer is sharing and documenting the architecture to avoid a single point of failure
