Heron eats giant rat. Summertime 2024 in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
This heron eats a giant rat! All guitars, photography, animal and nature sounds, video production and every aspect of these videos: by Stahl of Stahl's Blues.
I explore Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin mostly.
My hope is to preserve the beauty of these local areas via photographs during this rapidly changing time before it's all lost. My love and gratitude to God. God bless all who protect God's creations.
Fender Vintera 50's Stratocaster (2022) Neck Pickup (CS69) into a Fender 65 Princeton Reverb Reissue. Tubes=V1 USA GE 12ax7, V2 Tung Sol 12at7, Tung Sol 12ax7, V4 USA 12ax7, (Amp Volume 2.5, Treble 3.1, Bass 5.3, Reverb 2.6) I record onto my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra video camera, jvc earbud mic 10 inches away from the amp on the floor. 10 guage strings, 7.25 radius with relief on the 8th fret at .010 (capo on fret 1, depressing string at last fret with my finger). String height on the bass side at 5/64ths at the 17th fret. Slighly lower height regressing to the high side. Pickup height from the top of the pole piece to the bottom of the string (string fretted at the last fret) at 3.5 mm on the low side and 3.0 mm on the high side.
If I want some overdrive on the Strat:
Fender Vintera 50's Stratocaster (Sonic Blue 2022) on the Bridge Pickup, (stock Vintera bridge pickup) into a Maxon VOP-9 Vintage Pro, Maxon on 9 volt setting, inner light on, drive all the way, tone at 10oclock, level at 2oclock, then into the above Fender 65 Princeton Reverb Reissue. (Amp Volume 2.0, Treble 3.0, Bass 5.4, Reverb 2.6)
Same recording method as above.
When I want humbuckers I use my:
2012 Epiphone Sheraton ii, neck pickup, 10 guage strings, all knobs dimed, same amp as above (Amp Volume 2.3 Treble 3.0, Bass 4.4, Reverb 2.6)
For overdrive on the 2012 Epiphone Sheraton ii, I go into a Maxon VOP-9 Vintage Pro, Maxon on 9 volt setting, inner light on, drive all the way, tone at 10oclock, level at 2oclock, usually bridge but sometimes neck pickups (both stock).
Same recording method as above.
