Looks can be deceiving. I did 2 years and everyone just about read books in there. I read over 200 books after almost 10 years that I didn't read one book just Manga. It's hard for me to read on the outside. ADHD crap. And the thing is we used to get our books taken so I went 6 months no books pretty much and at other times it was hard to get another book to read after you read all available. These were gang members reading the notebook because it was better than nothing. I grabbed the notebook off the table and had like 5 dudes a Zoe and 2 bloods among them tell me it was a good book and was real sad. Lol I read books on Julius Caesar and song of ice and fire books and Neverwinter books I read so much and barely found one I didn't like. The racketeer is a great book. The green mile would have me broken at times and other dudes would see me weeping and be like what you reading id answer green mile and their response was always of understanding.

When you’ve been around and get to know people, it’s not so surprising.

In episode one of season one when Merle was cuffed to the rooftop in Atlanta. Merle begins to hallucinate after he comes to he realizes his circumstances/predicament. He begs Jesus to help him out & that if he does he'll be good. After he finds the saw that he used to cut off his hand with, he then begins to tell Christ that he doesn't need him & that he will never beg. Merle is man that loves Christ in his heart & wants to submit but, because of all of his pain & trauma, & what he's been through, can't. Because he's still living in the past, he can't let go. That's how he knew that bible verse

@John Mchanon Not only did Hershel have more kids (two more, small girls), who were killed by being flayed alive by one of the alternative prisoners within the prison arc, but the events surrounding that one, both before and after, were much more brutal than in the show. The show had to tone much of the events and actions down from the comics, this event is a good example, though they atleast kept some of the gory scenes. I would suggest a read, youll see how much was changed to fit a live action show.

the shit that happened between michonne and the governor was 100x worse in the comics than the show.. in the show all they did was FIGHT.. but in the comics?.. like i’ont even know if i can say it here they’ll delete my comment probably

​@@StremeSpoats215 I think it's good some characters don't overstay their welcome. I think merle shouldn't have been in the show for too much longer, same with the Governor. Better to go and make a memorable exit and stay a legend

Heres what i feel what should have happened, Daryl catches up to Merle and they are able to fend off the Governor and make it back to the prison. Merle would have survived up until season 8 where he takes Carls place of being bit, but that would of course require a mean ass character development from 3 to 8, which one of them ditching his racist, misogynistic, and short tempered ways. Thats my opinion. Merle was incredibly underrated, but taken too soon

That and the scene with Daryl in the woods where he sees Daryl’s scars, recontextualised both characters for me massively having been through similar situations myself, it didn’t make me condone Merle’s actions but it helped me understand them

He had one. He spent lots of his life as an asshole but his dying moments was to help protect his brother and the rest of the group. When you're extremely selfish like he was and you risk your life and die like he did that speaks absolute volumes.

Yeah they shouldn't have rushed the show and instead should have slowed it down and allowed people to enjoy all these characters. Instead of killing them off rather quickly and now they make...whatever they make, I never got past season 6 honestly it got boring

That bit of dialogue was quite clever without trying too hard. Earlier seasons had GoT level writing (early GoT), it was quite impressive.

@@rickandmichonne2253 IIRC Shane openly hated Hershel and his "passive" take on the zombies. Shane was very headstrong and charged into his problems head on. The best outcome the two of them could have would be to get Shane to leave.
