More places, Belgium and some doubts. Wow, I assumed it was a love song about a girl from Belgium. Apparently not.

Juno 106 strings pad sounds so soft, warm and recognizable! Great pleasant sound!

Ik heb niet zoveel verstand van muziek theorie (alhoewel ik zelf liedjes maken leuk vind)..maar wat ik leuk vind aan dit liedje vind is hoe de muziek goed overeenkomt met de stukken zang . In de coupletten lijkt het in een mineur schaal (noem noem je dat zo?) te zitten, wat iets pessimistisch is, wat leuk overeenkomt met de tekst waarin hij beschrijft dat hij niet weet waar hij heen moet. Echter, bij het refrein heeft hij de oplossing (belgie dus als land) en breekt het open met denk ik met een meer majeur klinkend refrein. Majeur lijkt vrolijk en open, wat dus goed past. Ik vind dat een leuk truukje dat (nog) vaker gebriukt mag worden. Ook wat betreft instrumentatie lijkt alles in het couplet meer korte tonen en geluiden zijn ingevuld, te zijn waardoor het iets "haperigs" heeft, terwijl in het refrein het ritme juist weer heel continue voelt, wat bijdraagt aan de euforie van het anwoord (het antwoord is het land Belgie om naartoe te gaan) Alhoewel het een goed refrein heeft, wordt het refrein echt verstrekt door de mineur vibe van het couplet. Wat ook weer helpt is dat het couplet dat Henk Westbroek zingt (of rapt?) erg monotoon is, en dit weer leuk bijdraagt aan het verschil van couplet en refrein. Het overgangsstukje dat wel meer typisch echt voluit gezongen is in plaats van dat meer praterige/rappende van het couplet, zit er een beetje tussenin. Anyway, een leuk lied en heel goede cover! Ook de mix is erg goed trouwens! Hij doet niet echt onder wat dat betreft van het orgineel. Hoogstens het stuk waar het normaal lijkt dat een heel publiek het woord 'belgie' meezingt is duidelijk beter bij het orgineel (waarschijnlijk omdat je alles zelf zong, dus dan krijg je moeilijk dat soort klank denk ik?)

Ontzettend knap gemaakt. Ik ben als kind in den jaeren 80 met dit liedje opgegroeid als fan van Het Goede Doel, heb dit nummer meer dan grijsgedraaid uiteraard (gaat overigens nooit vervelen) en de instrumentatie alhier doet wat mij betreft niet onder aan het origineel.

I think it's fair that you give some revisit covers to artist or two of your country of origin as a tribute. In fact, it is more than fair - an obligation. Although British, Canadian, Australian and American artists have the block reach through a common language, I have heard some pretty catchy songs from otherwise unknown artists outside the english vogue. Would A-Ha's Take On Me be a classic hit outside Scandinavia if it were sung in their native tongue? Nope. I believe Major Tom (Coming Home) was first recorded in German until Peter Schilling did the english translation quite some time later. As for this effort, I don't know the song, but will give extra listens because you have a taste for quality and put that same quality into your covers.

So I'm waiting for Hold on my heart - Genesis. No pressure, but I think it will be great in your performance!)
