Hey, I am on Vacation! | DCS: Created a new F.O.B. (small one)

Now that I am on vacation and have a lot of time, went back to the one thing that I "LOVE" to do..........creating FOB. This video has two bases in it, the FOB that I just created and also the Target Range that I did about 7 months ago. In the next week, I will do a video of me creating a small FOB and the steps that I take when I create one if anyone is interested.

Very nice. I never really built any FOBs before. Or add much equipment to airbases, because of FPS, but it makes it all so much more unique and interesting.

Nice job! Question though… if you use specials mods to build a mission and wanna post it for others to use the mission… do you have to include the mods used as a downloadable link for others to install or does ME just include the mods and everyone can just download the mission and see the mods you used? I’m assuming you have to include a link for people to download the mods and then link to download the mission?

Whenever I post a FOB for someone to download, the user also has to have the same MODS downloaded. BUT when I do do a FOB for the community, the mods and their links are there for the user to download

If you could only have two mods to build a base / fob - which ones would you choose? I'm doing missions for a group of friends, but I don't want them to download too many mods. Great work, very inspirational!!

Massun 92 asset pack (his newest verison 2.3) and Sam Site asset pack. If I had to choose two, those are the ones that I would choose. So many objects with both but Massun 92 asset pack, I could not create a helo base without it.

Unfortunately not this one, sorry. I am working on a video right now that explains what I go thru to create a FOB and the mods associated with it. There are some that I have uploaded to DCS user files under Static templates or you can look under that author name of MrGoodnite and you will find them. I used 11 mods to create the new one that I am doing a video on so that is why I do not share them because that is too many mods to ask someone to download. If I do a FOB in the future and post it on DCS, I will let everyone know. Thank you for the compliment, makes bases is my ZEN time...lol.

So you make the Apaches and other bigger Choppers land on a crumbly acre with high Concrete Walls around them, also standing on that acre. Instead of using HESCO Basket Walls and putting a PAD underneath them. Might check how they do it safely and use your vacation to study it before!

Thank you for your reply. This is about the 45th FOB that I made. I have used Hesco bags for my FOB but I did not want to use them this time, because if I do, my FOB will be the same. SO I went another way. I am not looking for a real representation of a FOB.

@WanderfalkeAT Brother, I was in Afghanistan as an apache crewchief and we used those concrete walls to separate the pads for each helicopter.

I think I got that Contrast because of the time of day. Early morning. I did not do anything special if that is what you mean. It is just DCS. And i used the F2 view and I zoomed in but kept the objects where they are.

@@MrGoodnite44 looks like a special render filter though. much better than default.
