Fun fact - in the original, the dog was meant to be a reference to Hewie from Haunting Ground, the setting of which should be in the same part of the world as this game's. Assuming this still applies here, our canine friend'll be having more adventures savaging monsters after this.

yeah in Original we didn't see what happened with the dog after that fight. all this time I was assuming that dog might got crushed under that Giant's dead body or simply ran away, glad they added proper full version of this scene in ReImagine.

I don't think the village part is destroyed. We only saw the island git bomb. So I believe the dog is safe, and the BSAA come to clean and hide the village from the rest of the world.

Leon calls him dog still even though it’s clearly a white wolf. Honestly Leon. I really wanted him to keep the dog as his pet. Would’ve made for a funny conversation with Hunnigan. Hunnigan: Leon! Why have you brought a wolf with you? Those are dangerous. Leon: Wolf? What wolf? It’s my good boy and my favourite dog. *White wolf cuddling Leon having time of his life* Hunnigan(is just stunned but somehow not that surprised, it’s the kinda thing that can only happen to Leon).

That was honestly way ahead of it's time. It was such an simple early game decision to save the dog and in return literally hours into the game your decision changes whether you get help during this boss fight.

it doesn't actually, the dog was still programmed to help Leon, even if you don't save him from the bear trap at the beginning of the game, Capcom just didn't made a version of the boss fight without the dog, because they knew no one would willingly leave the dog there, so they didn't bother lol

Thank you for the video. Just played the battle and I was having a heart attack, after hearing the dog bark more, after the fight. I was scared he was in trouble again, but watching the video I had relief seeing he was just perched on a rock. To then walk a few steps back in my game and see him in the same spot. Such a relief...

For some "REASON" suddenly THIS "DOG" reminds me of "HACHIKO" 😢😢😢😢😢😢... After the "HOWL" that night, it could be that suddenly a "WERE GARURUMON" or "LYCANS" or maybe a "WEREWOLF" appeared (just kidding). This dog is like a "HERO" for Leon himself, so that he can defeat this "EL GIGANTE".

I'll leave My proper full comment later here after playing this ReImagine version. for now all I can say by watching some walkthrough is both are Great in their own way. plus I won't call this game Remake version of Original but ReImagine version for sure because we see some new stuff, more details about this cult, more side of Luis & past of some characters like Krauser. so rather calling it Remake let's call it ReImagine(or RE4 but from different timeline) because how many different things & changes we saw in story. but still as for me* & players who like Original for it's own wild nature with punch liner & chad looking Leon, for us Original still holding Masterpiece trophy in our hearts & yes we still gonna play & adore this ReImagine version too for it's own different nature & that timeline Leon's sides(especially Luis' sides) So instead of hating it let's support our devs & letting them know what WE players really want things to be same as Original in future Remakes & what things they can change with their own new ideas. so yeah in the end I'll say love whatever version you want, for those who love seriousness but mostly comedic at the same time(& missing our Ballistic dude😹) Original is great for them & for those who's looking for fully seriousness, adventure & different side of RE4 then in Reimagine version We welcome them.

I kill the first El Gigante using rocket launcher , which means the dog/wolf won't show up. And after Del Lago, there is a side quest to eliminate infected white dog/wolf. Hope its not the same dog/wolf.

Nah, it's an infected black one, just a bit bigger and more resistant than the normal ones.
