On March 13th I met up with ‪@JawTooth‬ ‪@1960gambit‬ ‪@GY51360‬ ‪@SimonsEMDProductions‬ and ‪@AdventureswithJoeyBoats‬ in Vandalia for a day of Railfanning. Jaw Tooth's favorite Train KZfaqr is ‪@TheHoboShoestring‬, unfortunately, Hobo Shoestring passed away since this video was recorded so it will be dedicated to his memory.
Most of my videos are filmed along the CSX Toledo Sub and the Norfolk Southern Dayton District around Carlisle Ohio.

My husband disappeared on a trip to visit the birthplace of Bob Dylan, Duluth Minnesota. He wasn't quite right but he was the love of my life. A Hobo is a person searching. I hope Shoestring has found his place.

Been following Shoe for about 7 years!! Kind mellow fellow!! I love trains, so his adventures were very relaxing and interesting. Gonna miss seeing him and hearing his stories.

Shoestring was a rare individual. When I watched his videos I often wondered how he could ride the trains, day after day and year after year, record his travel adventures like he did, and stay sane. I could do it for a few days, maybe a week, but not like he did. He gave us a great first hand account of hobo life in the modern day.

We lost a complete library of knowledge. He probably knew the rails better than anyone, employees included. Plus he's a veteran. Great tribute, never met in person, but he always replied to my comments. He will be missed....

I now think of him whenever I travel (trucker) through places like Front Royal VA, Knoxville TN, Jonesboro TN, Radford VA, Roanoke VA, Hagerstown MD, Binghamton NY, etc. When I think about Alaska (the ferry ride, the Klondike Hwy)God, I'm going to miss that man 😢😢😢♥️♥️♥️

I'm a 67 year old home body, someone you'd never expect would like his videos, but I found his videos so entertaining, informative and refreshing. I especially appreciate learning survival techniques from him! I hope to meet him someday soon in a better world. Thankful to Hobo Shoestring for all the hours he shared. I'm deeply saddened by this news. I wanted to see a video because I was having trouble sleeping tonight and trains relax me.

Hey Jaw Tooth, you don’t know me and I’m pretty sure we’ll never meet in this life, but I’ve been a railroad enthusiast for fifty years and you were probably the first person I followed on KZfaq.
