Modern humans...we complain about everything. This isnt that bad, Ive had time to do many things. I think people whove had problem with this quarantine are people that like to party every weekend or people who cant enjoy themselves being alone. Dog is still enjoying life.

On a serious note he probably recognises some key sounds, the intonation in the voice and the gestures of the owner. He knows when he is being scalded and when he is being praised. That's about it probably. Still he is a lovely sweetheart with buckets of personality 😍

A word on what we think we know that animals understand. Speculation. People will confidently talk about how animals only understand inflections or tones, but they really don't get what you are saying. But I know I have said things to animals and they did or didn't do what I said to do or not do again. I knew a cat, I picked her up and told her not to try and get into the storage sheds at the place, she looked at me intently while I talked. She had kept trying to and I was afraid she would get locked in by accident. After that she would still come up to me, but if we were by the sheds, she wouldn't come there.

When she threatens him with the Humane Society, it reminds me of when I was very young my mom telling us we were driving her to the poor house. I became obsessed with it, where was it, can we drive by it, will we go with her ? And on and on. Poor Cashew 😂😂

i was trying to get our not-a-kitten induced to come in, looked back at his mama (who happens to be a calico floof and totally runs my house) and she was SO obviously judgy expression-wise when i asked her if she was laughing about our collective life fail (iirc she even did the right head-related move to answer meaningfully.) so yeah, how much they understand is sort of debatable, but that it's "more than some people give them credit for being capable of" is almost certainly true.
