Okay so this is "Rena and the backup band" Why can't I see or hear the other members? If I hadn't known them I would think this was a solo song. it doesn not sound like a song by a band. I really like the song BUT for a solo. The other members deserve recognition because they are as talented as Rena is. Literally the camera didn't focus on anyone faces except Rena. No one sang a line except Rena. The should all get their solo lines. They have amazing vioces. Everyone wants to see and hear their favourites. This is a BAND. I wouldn't be surprised if all the new people think of this as a solo song.

Starr Little i agree. But Miranda and Nia did sing backup and it shows in some parts of the video. Maybe not for long but it still showed.

Rena does almost all the vocals, but Miranda and Nia sing backups. This is the studio version, but when it is live all of the band is a lot more involved. It's not as electronic live. Also, if you follow them on their social medias all of the band gets attention and is credited for the song equally (except maybe Iain since he is new). I agree that many people only know Rena but that's because she is the front woman, but that happens for a lot bands. People know Luke from 5 Seconds Of Summer best because he is lead vocals and the front man. The front man/woman is always going to get the most attention. I'm happy for Hey Violet. They're finally getting the recognition they deserve with their new sound. It didn't work with alternative rock. It just didn't. I personally wasn't a fan until the Brand New Moves EP. I believe they have big things ahead for them.

Not necessarily. Often times those "all star" collaborations end up not as good as the bands on their own. Plus I think Hey Violet is slightly above Halsey and Melanie anyway.

I remember jamming out to this after having broken up with my then boyfriend who was my age. I went on to date older dudes who turned out the same, if not worse. It's not about the age but the person or the characteristics that you look for in a dude. Maybe this will inspire someone to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself if you subconsciously keep on looking for the same kind of person who is not a good match for you. I know it helped me figure some stuff out.

it's about character, people are often drawn to the same type of persona pretty much regardless of age difference like a moth to a flame .. setting on a path to failure cause it's what feels familiar .. and it never works out .. sad to see really females are being groomed from afar now, even music like this is directing them to older men (the ones that own the record companies and promote the music - maybe even write the songs) - it's a win for them, who else benefits? nobody.. there are guys out there, attractive young band like this telling other girls not to bother with them is part of the problem, all that this is trying to achieve is sugar daddies probaly married with kids having a young plaything to manipulate.. if you know someone who can't see how tacky that is then maybe they just need counselling for daddy issues - did he walk out from young, that lack of father figure whilst growing up manifests in all kinds of confusing ways for different people.. also girls need to stop expecting to be showered with gifts and treated like a bank account (easier for older men more established in life) and seek some relatable emotional connection instead.. this is just an extension of objectifying women and now it's even coming from women (i dunno if the band wrote the track, it looks pretty manufactured to me) aimed at younger women to make them susceptible to creeps as if being older is automatically a bonus no matter who it actually is .. yet another ad campaign by the mainstream propaganda machine If you never give anyone your age a chance, or give up after 1 or 2 bad experiences, obviously you're not gonna develop the social skills to build a relationship with someone your own age and then this song seems like the answer

I used to love this song when I was a teen, now I see it in a way different light. Age gaps are a different thing between 2 adults, but teenager +adult is wrong, even if its just 3 or 4 years different. If he‘s dating highschoolers it’s not bc he thinks you’re his soulmate. It’s bc women his age won’t touch him. You probably just realize it, when you’re his age and see people the age you were. Be safe 💗
