I haven't watched sitcoms since That 70s Show which was my 2nd favorite all time TV show (not any more since what happened) but for the early 1980s the best sitcom hands down, and still holds up, is MASH. Cheers and Fresh Prince are two favorites of mine too.

The Ms Pat Show is one of the best current sitcoms currently. It's an adult sitcom. One of the episodes has white people being slaves. Martin Lawrence chose Ms Pat to open for him on his upcoming comeback tour.

My tops (in no particular order) are Home Improvement, Full House, M.A.S.H., and Friends. I’d put Drake and Josh on here as well, but I’m not sure it specifically fits the sitcom genre because it was on a kids channel but it was absolutely hilarious. If it does count, the list becomes top 5 and nobody can change my mind.

I have the unpopular opinion as to why the 80s to the early 2000s sitcoms were better, it wasn't so politically correct! We didn't have such soft skinned people. People actually knew how to take a joke and didn't take offense to everything!

I would agree with some of that although, if you look back at some of the best ever, they weren’t really pushing the envelope on jokes.

@JoshWolfComedy nope they weren't, I was always a huge Cosby show fan, good, clean, holsome, and family fun. Others want to cancel Friends and some of the others cause they find them offensive. How? Beyond me, but then again, I believe a lot of people claim to be offended just to have something to complain about. If I don't like something or don't agree with something, I move on simple as that. That's the difference between the older generation and the newer generation even if it has nothing to do with them or about them they still want to take offense to it or make it about them instead of just moving on not everything is for everyone and that's okay too! Just like comedians the cancel culture wants to cancel offensive comedians they wouldn't have made it through the 80s with Eddie Murphy Raw or Richard Pryor...which are iconic 👏
