Wow what a collection of awesome layouts, O Gauge, 00 and N. Great locos with smoke and sound. This club has it all even a giraffe that ducks to avoid tunnels! If you love your model railways the Heywood Model Railway group is right up your line! #modelrailways #modeltrains #modelrailwayexhibition

And what does my layout represent? A heritage railway that runs to and from the town of Yealmington, which was the location in which Walmington-on-Sea was filmed for the BBC’s Dad’s Army series.

Hello! That small N gauge railway at 18:03 is mine! Havent been able to attend the club for quite a while so has been packed away but I am glad to see it is still in some nice shape. It is meant to represent how much modelling you can do in a small scale and space! The layout is DCC operated and can run sound locos whenever they are available!

For me, it’s got to be the locomotives and units on the layout as much as the layout itself. My personal collection is a whole batch of Southern Railway steam with an additional Great Western Steam Railmotor.

Some very nice and interesting layouts there. I think the nickname Gronk for the 08 was from the noise they make at startup. Gee Gas St. bridge. I remember that from when I was young in the '90s ...... alright '70s. A few bargains too by the looks of it. Thanks for the video. Cheers!

Nice club community, well spaced, what more do you want. Can anyone tell me what brand made that beautiful railcar in 7:25 is, I really can't identify it, but defiantly interested in one? The Hornby Duplo iron tracks, where made as a pure toy, and can be situated right on the end of the tin-toy era. It was a very strong and good system, and was actually the OO version of the tin 3 rail O rail version. It was a Jewish-German brand Bing in 1930 based in Nuremberg Germany, who first came up with the idea, and was brought out as a table top version, nothing to do with TT now. Now Bing is a very sad story, I can go on hours about It, but in a nut shel, it once was the biggest toy manufacturer in the world, the firm finely was broken up due to several factors, law suits, the 1930 crisis, and Nazi's. Now Bing developed the H0/00 gauge track, but never produced it under Bing, but it became Trix, and that a lot of us do know. And it's Märklin who was the real last producer of tin rails, known as M rails, ends somewhere around 2000. But still today Märklin is a 3 rail version, the advantage is you never get a shortcut in a loop, and they're now even made in the same form as the two rail we all use, known as K rail, with that difference, that it got hardly visible small contact pins in the middle. The toy mineral filler 38:40 you also have Rick, If you want to be creative, paint and washes and a few alerications, could transform it from a toy into something magnificent, you would never guess it was ever a toy. And that is also my joy, I often buy new stuff, magnificent detailing, but very expensive, and that frustrates a lot of people, to the point in today's expensive life, you can't afford it anymore. But you don't have to be frustrated, the only thing you must learn is to be creative and develop skills. I buy a lot of magnificent secondhand locos, and with some skill and paint transforms it to the same quality, as the latest £300 model. And a good tip for who is not sure and wants to try it, is buy for few £ a smoky Joe, or even a shell, some paints, and even cheap acyl paints from the £ shop will do and try to improve it professionally looking. KZfaq is full of tutorials, even the paint techniques, of the dungeon & dragons hobbyists can be a source of inspiration, and you will notice it gives a complete new dimension to the hobby. I've written to much again, but there is so much to tell🤣 Enjoyed it the video again, thanks very much Rick and Pauline. Cheers, Danny

The railcar is a model of the North Eastern Railway Petrol Electric railcar from around 1903. Very pioneering use of electric transmission. The model is a recent exclusive production for Rails of Sheffield.

@@johnd8892 Thanks John, I also found it, even worse, I have it in my collection☺🤣, I find myself a bit stupid now, but to my defense I got the orange/white version. And I was first thinking that it was a GWR railcar, with it being a chocolate brown version. And here I got confused as I got nearly all GWR versions, except the Heljan version, and that looks like the Lima/Hornby version. Anyway thanks for helping me👍
