Just seen your videos for the first time!! love your work, love your presentation. I am like you but I don't want to be restricted to the Spitfire.! I'm really waiting for VR gloves so that I can have a presence in the simulation and fly any aircraft ...but great job and well done. I will keep watching your progress.

Thank you Terry. In my view hand recognition by the Quest3 HMD has rendered VR gloves obsolete. Our approach with the Spitfire was to have a physical cockpit underlying the virtual cockpit precisely, hence the joint development of the Spitfire Mk.IX with FlyingIron Simulations. The passthrough now provides a window into the physical cockpit. All that said, I also have a general and helicopter setup for enjoying everything else there is to experience, but nothing beats the immersion of the Spitfire 🙂👍

Put it on a motion rig and that will defo make a difference!

I prefer the G-force seat I have installed. No washout, pull full g’s right around a loop or roll and everything else. Cheaper, simpler, great immersion 👍

Wow great video. How are you making the third eye shots of you in the cockpit with VR behind your head and shoulders?
@roelstausebach2435Ай бұрын
Hi John, thank you! I have a greenscreen behind the physical cockpit and record the flight in-helmet, with an external video camera next to the cockpit and using Flight Recorder for the actual flight. Then playback the latter with the correct cockpit angle using a drone camera in MSFS, recording that with OBS. Then throw the three clips into Final Cut, synchronize them and edit. Easy peasy 😅

Great video. What’s system specs including gpu are you using? Where in South Africa are you originally from? I used to live there and met an old ww2 spitfire pilot at a braai and chatted to him for hrs.

Nice video! Any idea if SimXR would work with a motion sim?
@roelstausebach2435Ай бұрын
Thank you! As with any VR application with motion simulation you would need motion cancelling software.

Will simxr ever be develeoped to work with DCS? Looks like $10 currently and supporting MSFS only right now.
@roelstausebach2435Ай бұрын
Sorry you will have to ask SimXR that.

How good are the visuals in the quest3? I have to find a replacement for my Reverb g2.
@heritageflightsimulation1556Ай бұрын
Hi Jack, I can highly recommend the Quest 3. It’s a big step up from the Reverb G2. I own both and find it difficult to go back to the HP.

Fun stuff! How do you do the selfie csn exterior view. Is that a green screen post edit orwrap around screen?

@@heritageflightsimulation1556 well, that's a nice touch. Fun to watch... I was like how's he doing that without a lot of editing.... It's a lot of editing. I built an authentikit mk ix setup. 466hr flying it so far. Building a 6DOF rig right now.

sounds great! you will have to do a video to share progress!👌
