This is footage from the movie H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds which came out in 2005 starring C. Thomas Howell. Directed by David Michael Latt.
This version of the book was the worst of the three that came out in 2005 (in my opinion). But the design of the Martian Walkers has always frightened me. So here is footage of every time they appear on-screen.
I plan to make a model of the machines and I will sell them as a mass produced product. Then I will create a working model of the Walkers.

I honestly really like the design of these machines/creatures, perfect representation of a cyborg, meshing organic matter and machinery into one massive bug-like mech, despite the horrible script and cgi

Anyone even remember what the hell happened in the "The Next Wave"? All I remember are fleshy tripods showing up out of the blue, bad set designs (even by Asylum's standards), and badly written characters I had no context for who spent most of the movie teleporting inside/outside of things or something. The first one was at least comprehensible and the 'walkers' themselves looked cool I guess.

If there's one thing David Latt's version did well, it was the design of the Martian Walkers (although I'll always prefer the classic tripods and handling machines.) Just a shame they were so under-utilized in the final film.

W Ferg Well in a way yes, but the martians in the book were described as "A huge rounded bulk larger than a bear" "Tentacles writhed as the clumsy body heaved and pulsated" where as these things are disc like creatures with four legs, and a weird mouth thing
