I could find a video specifically covering the two boards so I figured I may as well do it.
It's just a raw video of me talking so don't expect some pro level editing.
This video mainly covers the differences between the Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional HYBRID and the HHKB Pro BT.
I also talk about the difference between the Pro 1 and Pro 2 although I didn't have a Pro 2 on hand.

@@Evo_Spec Its honestly insane! i ordered it with fedex from the us on monday and got it on thursday! really enjoying it sounds and feels pretty good, though the domes might be less snappier than the pro2?

ShAzzE I also got mine around the same time as you, try the BKE ultra light rubber domes 35g for a snappier feel.

2:06 The rubber domes apparently harden over time for the older HHKB models. I'm not sure if they still harden for the Hybrid models since they changed the manufacturing method for the rubber.

i was hoping you'd talk more about the stabilizer differences between Pro 1 and BT/Hybrid. Not just the sound but also performance, wobble, feel, etc. since apparently Topre aren't famous for good stabs

None of them are particularly great. The Hybrid I had in this video was very nice but I sold that and then later got a good deal on one but it has a rattly spacebar that I can't seem to fix with any amount of lube. I think I'll need to dig deeper and balance the wire. I would say that overall the wobble and feel are about the same, the BT/Hybrid were lubed so of course they were a little better but I'm sure the pro 1 would have felt the same if lubed.

Good review! I own HHKB BT and I think fn+q will let you pair another device. Are the keycaps between BT and hybrid type-s compatible? Also, do they have the same color in person?

You can pair with more than one device but switching between devices in a huge pain in the ass. You need to turn off the BT on the connected device, turn off the keyboard, then turn it back on to swtich to the other device. The keycaps are compatible between all Topre boards, so that includes Realforce caps as well. To be honest, I never checked the color but IIRC, they were the same.

Which is a better (and quieter) typing experience: HHKB Type-S or a NiZ 82 electro-capacitive keyboard? I'm between these two as I want mechanical feel but can't stand the clack.

Type-S will be quieter since it has silencing rings but if you're tight on money then you can mod the NiZ.

How's the battery life between the BT and the Hybrid?

I've never fully tested this but in the 2 months that I had the BT, I was still using the same batteries. Same story for the Hybrid, I put in NiMh batteries to avoid alkaline leaks and I haven't had to charge it. If I remember, I will comment on this when my Hybrid batteries die.

Are you talking about the Alien keycap on the HHKB Hybrid? I got it from eldritchkeycaps.com/ a while ago. It's actually a mix of two colorways so you'd have to source the two colorways if you wanted to replicate it.

Hahaha, which one did you end up getting? The BT? It's still an amazing topre board if you don't mind not wiring it! Or use the micro USB to power it.
