It's a week for crystal clear optics and HD through-the-scope shots. Roy wants to work out the drop off at different hunting ranges for his FAC FX. Plus he wants to see how having a reticle in the first plane on his March Scope will help him get up close and accurate to his quarry. All is explained thanks to the scope mounted Eagle Eye.
That's not all. News leads on Bear Grylls' range of airguns at Game, Jamie Chandler learns that accurate retrieving is as important as accurate shooting and Airstreaming the best of the rest of the week's airgun films on KZfaq. +horne250 Hi Sean - His FX has a variable power dial - as FAC it's 32ftlb. For pellets he's been using the FX .22 - 16 grains. / Charlie

Aren't FFP scopes a bit overrated? As i see it, the more you zoom in, the less dots you see...When do you zoom in? At long ranges. When do you need your dots? Yeah...at long ranges. This means that if you have a serious drop you'll not be able to count the dots because you'd either not see the target close enough or the dots will go out of screen..? If i'm correct...which might not be the case :)

Roy, I'm curious about something. If you head shoot a rabbit (or pigeon for that matter) with a lead pellet, are you still willing to feed the meat to your birds? Or do consider it too much of a risk? And while I have your attention, what is your opinion of Gamebore's Tungsten Matrix shot? Would that be suitable for birds that will be fed to raptors? Great show, btw. And that focal plane is awesome.

+Mayhem VI have a mate who is a master falconer, I supply him with squirrels to feed his birds in the off season, we always make sure to remove any pellet(s) before feeding them. they can get lead poisoning if they ingest any pellets.

+MrcabooseVG The problem is that putting Gulls on the general licence will encourage every Tom,Dick and Harry with sub 12 to take pot shots at them. Not very fair on a big tough bird like this. There'll be a lot of horribly injured birds which is bad news for responsible shooters.

***** They could always class them as fowl which would mean having to use steel shot, also a headshot on a gull would do the job. They're not that tough.

Not if muzzle energy is less than 12 ft/lb

Yes - all our airgun videos are with sub 12 ft/lb airguns unless we say it is an 'FAC' airgun (i.e. it is more powerful and has to go on a Firearm Certificate). / Charlie

Sorry but surely this is not in the right place i.e, Fieldsports Channel.....a sport is when two or more opposing people or teams go up against each other on level terms.....I tried but I couldn;t see any Rabbits with scoped Rifles here.

+Fieldsports Channel ......if that gives you a clear conscience....fair enough, but really ...you know i'm right..it's NOT a sport,..don't get me wrong, i'm all for shooting Rats, but GENERALLY I think there is something not quite right about someone who gets enjoyment from killing animals, such as Squirrels or Rabbits...unless you plan to eat them.

+hugoforth Rabbits and Gray Squirrels are not native to the British Isles and are terrible pests, they can be just as destructive as rats

+Hal Edwards .....yes, I understand about them being pests, but some other chap annoyed me with his obvious glee at every rabbit kill....it just didn't seem right.....and please....dont say its a sport, because its the complete opposite of a sport.
