I really wanna do a social-distancing run. Be cool if there was a mod that made duplicants "share germs" if they come within 6 tiles of each other. Combine it with the diseases reborn mod and I say it'd be a pretty neat vid series. Greezy's designs would make for very neat isola--social-distancing chambers.

Germs are definitely underpowered. Would need an update with a big emphasis on germs & healing, which would ramp-up the difficulty.

Francis should use this in his lava rocket silo, the waterfall idea is way better than the doors pump!

Very interesting. Seem a bit excessive to be practical and imho doesnt work as well as something simpler. Regardless, i do like your designs and even if this one i dont like as much as others the ingenuity and variety of the design are both great things! So thank you!

@@RobertLutece909 Have never had problems with a tiny 2x1. Sure, use it if you like it. There are simpler, smaller and less fps impacting ways of doing this tho. This one sure is fancy and all, with it's gas glitch and water level rising. Oh and it's not the easiest to set up and time to build can be an important thing for such a system which most likely would be set up relatively early in the game. So yes, it's not the most practical design for it's purpose.

@@tyraelpl You are correct. This can be accomplished with the 1 tile pit and a screen door with just enough water to fill the pit completely. No special resources needed and can be completely automated with no dupe interaction needed.

You don't even need an airlock. Do the 1 square pit, 2 squares on each side, put a screen door over it and put 1007kg of water in it. Or just enough to pass the one square line and enter the door's square. This keeps them from floating to the top and getting air but allows dupes and sweepers to pick up the resulting meat and egg shells.

@@DarthPoyner haven't had much success with 1000 kg liquid pits, they avoid it, or it must be just my imagination, never fiddled with the build for more than a cycle or so, though access to the pit is somewhat convenient... Never seen a Hatch walk willingly into a pit it could drown after its Dupe who lovingly groomed it shed a teardrop into the water pit and bid farewell from the other side of the evolution chamber

Good point! I like to over-engineer things. Definitely there are much more compact ways.

@@DarthPoyner Don't even need that much liquid. Even a drop will do you once you close if off with a tile and have an auto sweeper transport the meat/eggs. Plus it's the point of the game. You can simplify or over engineer as much as the game will allow or until the devs change it up.

Fun application of the liquid loop! Does it come with any perks that a 1 tile drowning chamber doesn't?

Takes up more space, costs a ton more energy, and if you are feeding the creatures waiting for evolution then the food. Fun but completely over-engineered.

@@DarthPoyner - Maybe for this, but I'm seeing more of these door pump/pressure up designs lately for different scenarios. Hyper-focusing on the most efficient designs possible for everything can be rather boring and the game is forgiving enough as long as you know what you're doing.

Curious what is the practicality of this over just dumping eggs into a pool of water with a door? Is this for super-late game and pumping out calories for the isoresin tree? Feels like you only do this if you're running incubators flat out.

This is awesome in its simplicity! I already had a similar design in place, but I used a door pump and the usual pressure liquid, which was less elegant and used more space. Stealing this variation right away!

Great design! In a real base scenario wouldn’t you also want to apply the “larger room” principle you used in a previous video, so critters don’t feel cramped?

What advantages does this provide over just dropping eggs into a 3 tile deep collection tray with a tile of water? The eggs drop in..they drown after birth n then meat goes to cooker. I must be missing something I think.
