Dear Sir, couldn't understand one fact, why are we measuring the income needed to buy OT from M downwards. My doubt is, shouldn't it be O upwards i.e. OE that he should spend and save ER?

Sir as per the properties of indifference curve, curve never touches any of the axis but in example its started from Y-axis

According to properties IC never touches any axis in case of two commodities but if IC touches y axis it means it indicate the relation of money and a commodity.In this example sir take one commodity on x axis and money on y axis. Again read properties.
