I’m a Londoner but from south of the river. My Dad took me everywhere on the weekends - but we never did East London. So I really enjoyed your exploration. Thank you.

Carol no worries, I remember my dad taking me to museums & all sorts of other places when I was a nipper, even smokey snooker halls (that was my older brother's choice!!) God rest his soul.

Just love this video's Paul, just the right mix of commentary and just allowing the viewers to absorb the atmosphere of a place. Also enjoyed the video's of Tilbury and Gray's, as that's where I came from50 years ago, and studied at the Cordwainers college in Hackney. Keep up the good work

I loved it. You are wrong. People do watch your videos & do pass them on to friends. Such wonderful unexpected places. I loved it all. Charles Dickens London lives on.

Super video.I was totally surprised when I went down Clifford’s Inn - you just don’t expect these sights - like the Law Courts off Fleet St.

Cheers David, I just think some of these places need highlighting.

Interesting seeing these places you usually would not notice. BTW those black sloping things at the bottom of the walls at the beginning of Clifford's Inn Passage. are to deter men from peeing against the wall.

At one point, the law firm which backed onto Clifford’s Inn used that as their postal address as it was in the City while their front entrance was technically in Westminster. City firms are regarded as more “pukka” than West End firms.

Peter thanks for the snippet of info, makes sense really if a City address is more highly regarded.

That door to Cliffords is usually locked from that side…

I wonder what skullduggery took place in these back alleys years ago

Reminds me of the time I met Cliff Richard in the shitters at Euston Station back in '63.

That constant banging of metal? is appalling. What on earth is the cause? I can'tget the time because I'll have to abandon my comment. But in the last 1/4? od upload? It might be a lovely, quiet little hideyhole, for a flat, but that huge, constant? thumping! Drive people to madness. Imagine working with that, day after day...

Georgie it's the construction workers, it's a problem for filming sometimes too, in some parts of London it's all you can hear, all day!!
