Located in a Natural Area of ​​Special Interest under the name of Es Amunts, surrounded by forests of pine trees and huge cliffs, Cala Aubarca it is possibly one of the most isolated places in Ibiza, since there are no houses or buildings in the area.
The way to get to this cove is not easy. I have to admit- this was the hardest excursion on Ibiza for us so far.. As long as going down is not that bad, going up really require some skill and physical fitness ;)
The best of all is that when You finally get there, You will find nothing but nature in its purest form! Moreover, most probably You won't need to share it with anyone else ;) Just You and pure paradise!
To get to this cove, we must go to the town of Sant Mateu , in the north of Ibiza. Taking the road that passes right in front of the church and continue the path through the Pla d'Aubarca - plain of red and fertile fields, where a delicious local wine is made.
Not longer after we will find a detour to the right to an unpaved road.
A kilometer later we will arrive at a small stretch of open level grassy ground where we must leave our vehicle.
