This code was literally written in a manual of Super Mario Brothers instruction booklet that's how I found out in 1990!
@ernestosouza3471 Жыл бұрын
are you sure? I read the manual and didn't found any mention of it, do you know in what page is it written?
@demonology2629 Жыл бұрын
@ernestosouza3471 100% sure It is an in the manual Perhaps the beginning of the book. It's in the Super Mario Bros & Duck Hunt edition manual. I can't remember what page it was but it was front of the book, the first few pages at least maybe on the continue screen section.
@shsrpr11 ай бұрын
@@demonology2629 100% Sure? It's legit not in any version of the manual that I can find online, SMB/DH, SMB by itself, SMB/DH/WCTM... none of them. I actually was looking to back you up, since I thought I remembered learning it in the manual too. But also, I was 7 or 8 when we got the game, so who knows where we got the info from.
@shsrpr11 ай бұрын
@@demonology2629 It's actually on Page 31 of the Official Nintendo Player's Guide that was released in 1987. That's where the info first was revealed, in the US anyhow. It was definitely something that we (my family) knew day 1 with the game though, so we probably got that info from a cousin or a neighbor who had the guide.

Fun fact: if you put in smb, then reset and take out the cartridge, then put tennis in then walk for abit after the music stops, then reset again and put smb in, then ypu can press a+start and it will put you in a glitched world. This is because tennis sets a byte to A5, which is how amb detects a warm restart so it doesnt reset certain bytes, and tennis uses a byte to keep track of the amount of footsteps youve had after the muic stops, and that byte is normally what keeps track of what world you would continue to in smb.

I knew this as a kid, but I think my mom was the first one to hear it and for whatever STUPID reason, she heard it as "turn the controller upside down, and hold A and press Start." So for the longest time that's what we did. I was too young to know any better, but as for my mom....🤦🏻♂️ How TF is a circuit board gonna know its orientation. I didn't know they had motion-sensitive controllers in 1985.
