Thanks for your awesome videos on highlanders. 5 days ago I got my new to me highlander xle & I love it. Your videos helped me figure out how to close the power gate when it got stuck open because the window was open, but even better after watching this video I went out & found exactly what you said the dealer didn't even realize was already there. We didn't even notice it when we opened everything up while looking at it before we bought it & we had planned on buying one but now don't have to with a brand new one already in it. Thanks again!!!

My 2004 Highlander Limited V6, 4WD came with the tonneau cover installed. Mine not only unrolls to the rear but there are 2 covers (one left one right) that roll out and snap into the receptacles on the back of the 3rd seats so there is full concealment of the rear cargo area. But thanks to your video I now know that there is a storage location for the assembly when not in use. Like others here I always stored it at the house when rarely using the 3rd seat. Good to know.

I had a 15 yo Highlander and just about 6 weeks ago I bought a really nice 3 yo Highlander to replace it. Of course my old car didn’t have this option. As soon as I watched this, I went to the garage and checked it out. I was so glad to see mine had this, especially since it’s used. I started watching videos to replace a part that was damaged when I purchased the vehicle. I used that video to do my removing and installing of that part. So glad I continued watching videos just for the heck of it!! Now if I could just find gas and brake pedal extenders, I would be happy. Thank you so much!

I did not know that my 2019 XLE had that special holder for the rear cover. My Highlander came with it, when I bought it brand new. I usually take it out and put it on the floor of the second row, when the dog goes for a ride with me. Thank you so much. I am loving your videos!

Thanks for the video. Before I viewed the video, I purchased the 2021 Platinum, asked salesman if I could purchase the cargo cover and they did not have them in stock. Later the next day looking for tricks and found your video. Checked the back as you instructed and there it was. Many thanks saved me the cost of the unit!

Steven, I have a 2021Toyota Highlander Limited. I have had since December 2021. I was going to buy a cargo cover. I am so glad I looked at your tutorial on hidden features. My 2011 Highlander I can't remember but I think it was already set up. And I was looking for instructions to install the cargo net I bought and I saw the hidden features and decided to look at it. I am so glad I did. Salesman did not tell me. I kind of had an idea how to put in the net from my 2011 Highlander but I did not realize all I had to do was pull the hooks on the bottom. Plus I did not have on my glases and di not ant o break anything, Love the information! Thank you!

Great to know where to place the cover when using the third row. I have a 2018 SE, and was irritated when I had to take it out because my wife needed to use the 3rd row and I didnt know it had a storage spot. Awesome information.

Hey Steve: I just bought a 2019 Highlander XLE, and I haven't looked in the "well" yet. I fall into that category of people who set their vanity covers in their garage. I only ever use one when my wife and I are traveling, just so would be thieves DON'T see what's in the back, but the Christmas gift concept is good too. I was just thinking about whether I should go buy one or not? MAN...Am I glad I watched this video!!! I've learned more from watching your videos in 5 minutes than I did from reading this friggin' New York City phone book sized owners manual for 2 days!! Thank you. Keep us newbs in mind. Very true, when I purchased my 2022 Platinum I was unaware that it came with the cover. As a part of the negotiations requested one then discovered I already had it and cancelled the order. Apparently, they were unaware as well.

I had a 2009 Highlander, XLE. It had a Cargo Cover , which I used! Traded it in for a 2015… NO Cover. I asked about it. Was told they weren’t doing them anymore. The Dark tint on back windows took the place of it. I doubted that. I have something that sounds like Golf Balls rolling around . Was hoping you were going to show me a hidden compartment that I could search! This car doesnt have the cover , but all the squares to insert one! Thanks for that info.

Will you go over what tools are there under the rear cover? My 2018 LTD was bought new but I noticed that some slots are empty and the salesman said all tools are there but there are empty slots.

Steve, just purchased a used 2019 Highlander XLE at a dealer in Madison, I wish I would have watched this video before. Bottom line my Highlander has the interior panels with the notches to hold the main piece and hold it extend it at the other end to accommodate the cargo area cover that stores in tire tool area. Do you have a formal name/part number for the cover assembly (2019 model) and a ball park cost? Thank you for making these videos very helpful. I have discovered many things about the Highlanders I probably never would have figured out without them.

I just got my Highlander and I love this feature. The 1st day I got it, I noticed it was for the cargo. Idk why hatchbacks and other SUVs don't have it. I rather carry it in my car where it's nicely stored away, than putting it somewhere in my garage

We have a 2008 toyota kluger (australian highlander) grande GSU45R. It has one stored in the same place and fits pretty well much the same. Tells you about it in the owners manual - its a long read though.

I just bought a new 2022 Highland this week, and this is a happy surprise, although I haven’t been able to confirm that I have the cover.

You can also use that drape as a holder if you want to recliner the back middle seats back.

Base model in Australia, known as GX, also has the tornaue cover.

Does the 2023 Highlander have this hidden cover? Mine still has the slots for it to drop into but I have not found a cover.

Our '19 Limited Platinum has this. One cool thing to know...our 2010 also had this same feature, and it was a base V6/awd model.
