I'm crying because Katherine, Dorothy, and Mary have inspired women of color to throw themselves into the careers they desire and with that, are able to succeed and contribute to the advancements of their fields, whether it is math, criminology, or politics. I can't wait to see this movie.

women of color? look at 0:52 - now how is that a black woman ? i see the movie was supposed to be inspiring, but why not call a spade a spade - the truth is, by taking a quick look at those women (the original ones, not the actresses that played them), you could NEVER have guessed they were black. they are not only black - they're black and white - why hide that, as if being white is ''shameful'' ????

+Polish Rainbow Katherine Johnson (at 0:52) is, in fact, an African-American woman. Just because you can't tell someone's race by looking at them doesn't mean it isn't an important part of who they are.

Woa. You're really, intensely stupid. Like... I honestly feel sorry for the poor souls that raised you and taught you, only to have you coming out and talking like this. How about you do some research, and get back to me? Because these women existed. They wrote, by hand, the vast majority of the launch information for the NASA moon mission in 1969, and went completely uncredited for decades. And why? Because of racists like you, you uneducated, unintelligent waste of space.

Mhmm, whatever you say pal. I don't need to argue any further, it's clear that you're set in stone about your views, however wrong and incredibly misinformed you may be in holding them. But what you're saying is not true fact. In fact, not even close, and you have no standing in telling me that I know nothing, when your arguments are based on personal opinion rather than evidence. I'm not going to continue this any further, I see no point in arguing with someone who is clearly just trying to spout offense rather than hokd a constructive debate - not that there was one to have, anyway, since your main argument centres around being offensive and discriminative towards people because of their race or religion.

I relate to this movie in many ways. I just started school today and I'm the only girl in my Technology 1 class. Most girls lose interest in technology in middle school. I didn't. I don't know any of the boys, and the freshmen that are with me I don't know very well. So I'm alone, but I'm going to stay strong and confident and if someone thinks that my right answer is wrong, I will say what I believe, answer when told and explain when asked. It doesn't matter if I'm a girl or the only one in the class. I want to learn the same thing a male wants to learn.

Lauren Cameron well sure - if one used the term ‚genius‘ than we‘re definitly talking about something that cannot be reached by hard work. What bothers me is that „godgiven abilitys“ sounds like these women couldn’t have done differently- they were gifted by god and that’s just it. But it’s not: they worked hard for their achievements. Even if Katherine was a genius (though I don’t like using this term for the above stated reasons) she was able to make something out of it. Especially when it comes to successfull women in history we need to learn to acknowledge their work and not just say: „well, so what? Anyone this gifted could have done this.“
