Hidden Gems in Pembrokeshire | Waterfalls and Neolithic Tombs

In this video we search for waterfalls, a neolithic tomb, and a house made of shells! All hidden gems in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.
We visit Ffynone Falls, Cilwendeg Shellhouse, and Pentre Ifan, all beautiful and unique places with interesting stories and history.
Ffynone Falls is located in North Pembrokeshire and carves through a steep wooded valley, before cascading down a final fall to a deep pool. The pool is so deep that it is said to be the place of the Legendary otherworld of Annwn, and is a popular place to go wild swimming.
The Shellhouse forms part of the Cilwendeg estate, and the inside is lavishly decorated with seashells, fragments of coloured glass, and the knuckle bones of sheep and cows.
Pentre Ifan on the other hand, is perhaps the most famous image associated with ancient Wales. This impressive looking Neolithic Dolman is thought to have been built in 3500BC and is currently maintained by Cadw, the Welsh Historic Monuments Agency. Its original use was thought to be a neolithic communal burial site, though there are still many theories.

There were some really cool hidden gems for sure. Hannah absolutely loved the half tree. I wonder why it grew like that, possibly crown shyness?

Afternoon Tom, Hannah, amazing video l! Love the swap shop village hall, did you see they had one in Coniston too? Wish everyone and everywhere could be so trusting and kind ❤ shell cottage would make a great horror film, cow knuckles.....say no more lol! Hey guys! I didn't realise that there was one in Coniston?? Will have to check that out. It's one of those things that restores my faith in humanity a little bit. Shell cottage, a new horror film coming 2022 where a group of unlikely strangers attempt to spend a night in it before being spooked by the owl! Starring Leonardo DiCaprio I reckon!

Great video Tom and Hannah. Looked like a beautiful place. Loved those waterfalls. Shame you didn’t pack the swimming stuff. Looked a perfect location for it. Must be great to be out exploring further afield 👍

A place I know very little about, which made it even more enjoyable for me. The abandoned buildings always amaze me, why do people just up and go and leave them. Funny, it did not look cold but the car looked like it was a welcome return for you both, cheers Alan

Pembrokeshire Is a stunning place, absolutely packed with history and views! Abandoned buildings fascinate me as well, they hold so much history and it makes you wonder why people left. It was so sunny but the wind chill brought it right down! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, it's really appreciated!

Great video you both! Looked like you had a nice day, and a day you should appreciate looking at where we were a month or so back. That half tree thing looked weird, never seen anything like that before. Wouldn’t go under that rock me mind, didn’t half look dodgy 🙈🤣. Oh I love this man! So great to see other hidden gem hunters and these spots look amazing! I never knew about the shell house definitely need to add it to my list. Loved the video, happy to see you guys out adventuring again!

Thanks Josh, I think in normal times you can go inside the shell house but it was locked when we tried. Such a weird bit of history, maybe people back then just liked decorating their garden houses with bones of animals!

Wow I loved watching this! I love seeing the history of places that people hike! How amazing to find this old house made of shells - and cow knuckles.... hahaha I loved the neolithic tomb, and just the beautiful scenery! In the US we have the scenery, but we're missing those historical markers! I love it.

The shell house was really interesting. Apparently during normal times its unlocked and you can head inside, but covid has locked it up! I wanted to say more about the neolithic tomb but it was just SO windy and cold 😂 just an excuse to go back though! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, it's really appreciated!

Really entertaining that one Tom - you can get so much in a day. I like the swap shop. The big tech corps might be trying to create an inhuman world but it well never remove it totally. Thanks Mark. I agree, you can get loads done and see a lot if you just know where to look! The swap shop was really cool, I wonder how long it had been there. I think we're going to head back pretty soon purely just to go swimming in there for a bit
