If you're looking to visit a city other than the main ones like Tokyo, Kyoto, or Osaka - check out Tottori Prefecture in the Japanese countryside!
The big cities are great, but the countryside is where you can truly experience the 'real' Japanese culture (in my opinion).
I hope this travel guide encourages you to travel and explore just a little bit deeper than the average tourist and I hope you can meet all the kind people and see the amazing places in the countryside!

In the past few years, I've had the privilege of holding events in Japan and around the world - feeling very grateful for all the lovely friends I've met along the way! I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and learning about different cultures, so in 2023, I want to travel abroad more and connect with more of you! Let me know down below what country you're from and I might just hold my next event there!!

Unlimited things to do see eat and explore :D By the way, thank you for your previous tottori videos, you really helped me out with my trip I just took to japan last month. Indigo Dyed in Chizu town, Paraglided in the sand dunes, made paper lanturns and had shabu shabu in the spot where it was invented all thanks to you! Cheers and keep up the great videos!

Hi Angela, I saw your channel and patreon has slowly stopped which is a shame! I’ve just spend the day turning your Kyushu video into a trip and I’m amazed at your attention to detail. I’ve also found your website in the process of trying to locate the farm stay at Arita. Your work trying to find the off the beaten path places of Japan is really great and I hope that you might someday come back to making such content ❤

I really like it when youtuber do some kind of meet and greet with their fans and even take the time to show them around as you did ! I personaly wouldn't drive around or an hour or more only to get some food at a special place (and I am not much of a group tour guy anyways) but yeah awesome, thank you for doing this :)

Great video as always!! During my last visit to Japan I was able to spend a few days in early December visiting Tottori. Unfortunately the weather that week wasn’t so good and I wasn’t able to go out as much as I’d hope😅 Visited Conan Town in Hokuei, Mizuki Shigeru Museum in Sakaiminato and Uradome Coast at Iwami. But seeing Tottori Station brought back good memories 😊 I do want to go back and visit again and do the hike!

So amazing! I am coming back to Japan in June and besides landing in Tokyo and staying to get my hair done - I want to spend my whole three weeks in less traveled areas. I will be working remotely for some of the trip(on US hours), so I hope to take it slow and stay in areas where I can enjoy the local activities and nature after work. Since its June, I am thinking to go north to avoid the rains - not sure how much of my trip to base on this.
